anyone know the actual position re Skrtel since Beeb are reporting Italian sources that he has agreed 3 year deal with Roma .Hope not true because they being Italians will only offer a used tissue instead of the Turkish £5m

Very hard to replace Modric... he's a brilliant player. Wonder how good United would have been with him in Fergie's last year or two.

Henderson is decent... certainly a good player for the squad.

Look dahoud is a similar sort to kante. that's what you want.

Kovacic and moure and all lovely links to think on.

Then guerriro and Hector and all very positive links too.

    We will see.

    ......

I note wenger basically has said he's given up on vardy. Leicester fans and arsenal fans will be celebrating

As someone who'd defended him (up to a point), I'd take the used tissue.
We need to move on, and I think he can still do a job elsewhere so it's best for both parties. I do think he'd be better off in Turkey, though.

Skertl has said he's fully focused on the Euros. Which means he's not ready to say and please shut up.

I think he'll move as soon as they are out... which maybe next week if England can win but it seems most likely to be last 16

    Skrtel is pretty much gone.

I know a lot of people on here love to slag him off but please lets show him respect. It's not his fault he's **** and been a mainstay in such terrible defences since Rafa left.

Please lets give him a good send off, one that he deserves.

Hopefully you're being sarcastic because you were constantly slagging him off <laugh>

personally i'd rather Klopp had the £5m to spend than rather be offering a used tissue for his choice of LB

Well I for one will say thanks to Skrtel for the effort he's put in.
No-one can help the talent that they're born with, only what they do with it. He had a few good spells for us and a few more poor ones, but he's always done his best.
He's given his all, even to the extent of acquiring rather more holes in his head than are strictly necessary - and that, to me, deserves a little respect . The fact that he's not got the requisite amount of talent is a reason to move him on, not to slag him off.
So:emoticon-0172-mooni:emoticon-0172-mooni to all of yez who've given him a hard time.

Depends what it's been used for.

Well of course we'd rather have some dosh, but I think we need to upgrade on him no matter what.

oh agreed it's just i'm a tight fisted old git and i despair at the "it's only a couple of million" attitude from some supporters and clubs these days. The huge amounts floating around have led to ridiculous spending with no thought for future financial health and considering clubs like ours lack of due diligence on players they are signing (iro of do they fit in our team plan, and actual talent in some cases) a total failure of in club arrangements iro of transfers.

    sorry rant over

Southampton are demanding that Liverpool pay £40million if they want to sign Sadio Mane,.
Jurgen Klopp is reported to be increasing his efforts to land the Senegal international this summer but Saints are determined not to lose their man.
They want to ensure that they receive a bumper pay day if their star man is to depart the south coast for Merseyside in the coming months.
Should Liverpool agree to stump up the asking fee, they will also have to pay out big money on his wages as the star will reportedly ask for £125,000-a-week.

How long is on his contract? 2 years?

They'll be in the same place they are with spurs and wanyama within 12 months.

I could name 2 players I'd get that would match that fee and wages.

Someone will get him for 10 in 12 months... especially if he sulks again.

Time to leave Southampton alone, we should look elsewhere.
