Actually his dad is Arnur Gudjonsen - so he *should* be Eidur Arnursson. Can't help you with that one - it's not the law to have that naming protocol, but it is absolutely the commonly done thing. Suspect there's some family reason or other.
Eidur's kids also have the surname Gudjohnsen, so looks like at some-point their family decided **** it.

I remember watching a couple of Hungary games for match reporting exams at university last year and thinking that Laszlo Kleinheisler looked a real talent. Interested to see whether he lives up to that in these games.

Lovely piece on Chris Waddle in the BBC at half time. What a player he was. Two things stand out for me about Waddle.

1. When I was 18, he played in a reserve team game for Spurs and I was on the opposing bench. He played 45 minutes as he was coming back from injury and he didn't run anywhere. He bossed the game and half way through his half he bent down next to our full back, pretended to pick something up and said, "Here son, you've dropped your lipstick"

2. I watched the Cherries v Burnley when Waddle was 37 or 38 in level 3 or 4. Waddle played wide right and again didn't run anywhere. He destroyed the full back with shoulder drops and pin point crosses all game.

Loved him.

I still dream that his shot that hit the inside the post against the Germans in the 1999 semi-final, went in. It defied physics by staying out.
