Its quite simple.. he was unelectable..

This is why you don't like democracy and you have no respect for it.. the MAJORITY didn't want him.. Democracy is about you accepting you are the minority and learning to live with that!

Thats why you said earlier in this thread that there shouldn't be a referendum because the majority of people aren't intelligent enough to vote on such a big issue.

This is the last chance to get out of this mess because in 10 years time the world will be full of your lot and God help us then.

Thats not what the majority of labour and Tories think.

Why would he need to respond to a leave vote when he doesn't know what the consequences will be?
Just scaremongering and I am confident the majority will see through this.

Well we know that it will be a bit of a mess post Brexit and so you have to prepare for such eventualities

People aren't stupid, they can see through this.. except for you apparently??

So we've been threatened we will cause war, have been threatened that the free world will fall apart if we leave, we've have been told we are incapable of standing on our own two feet without the EU giving us back a reduced amount of our own money, we are incapable of negotiating our own trade deals, now we will bankrupt our own nation without an increase in taxation and borrowing, the pound will be worthless, the NHS will be worthless, we won't be able to defend ourselves, our pensioners will receive reduced pensions, our property values will crumble, our financial sector, the biggest in the world will be restricted, interest rates will increase, our currency will devalue but don't worry our population will be increased, our sovereignty will be lost, our laws and jurisdiction will be dictated by the EU, all of this because the British people have been offered the chance to choose freedom, independence and the right to choose for them selves.

    You must be joking...

Stubborn is someone who argues despite every argument being blown apart and won't listen and someone who when repeatedly asked to back up their statements with facts is unable to do so but then continues to post the same old ****
despite the massive holes in their argument!!!

I'm still undecided on the whole thing, but from my point of view it clearly was a scare tactic/ threat from the little turnip

Due to family circumstances, I have been very intermittent on the board lately however I was staggered to see the number of posts on this thread and haven't had the time to catch up so apologies if some of this has (probably) already been said.

My view is unchanged from my post in the early days of the thread. The EU is far from a desirable animal in some respects however Osborne's warning is entirely legitimate for me. The myth that we will be £170m (NET) a week better off is exactly that, pure fantasy.

The reality is that if we decide to divorce ourselves and leave the big boys club to become the sad loner in the corner with no mates, the major players will not take us seriously any more and foreign investment (which makes a lot of this country work), will pull out 100's of billions pounds. £70 billion+ has already gone in the last 2 months but this is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg compared to what would follow.

This will, at best, slow the economy if not send it backwards and drop the tax receipts considerably more than the £170m we would save a week when we have 2/3m people on the dole again so there WON'T be all this extra money to spend on the NHS. In fact, the cuts will probably be even more savage to compensate for the lower overall tax income.

Interest rates WILL have to increase due to the drop in the £ and it is a fact that if we ever got back to even 6 or 7% rates, a lot of under 30's will probably have to hand back the keys to their houses and that will pour a large bucket of ice cold water over the housing market. Just for the benefit of our younger members, a reminder that when I bought my house, my first buyers DISCOUNTED interest rate was 10.99%, this would be a return to the bad old days which some on here will be old enough to remember. These were pretty grim times which many on here will not have experienced and I hope they never have to.

As for the economy, the only reason that Britain is the 5th largest economy in the world is "the city" so, when the rest of the world eventually becomes disenchanted and creates their own version (as they inevitably will), this country will become a third rate back water and anyone who thinks that we will be fine on our own is seriously deluded.

In summary, be careful what you wish for as whilst there is a lot that I do not agree about in the EU, adopting the "little England" approach will finish this country as any kind of serious player in the world.

People really need to sit down and think about ALL of the consequences of leaving rather than just focus on the highly emotive issue of immigration which is just ONE aspect of the bigger picture. Rather than leave the country up the creek without a paddle just so that we can say we put one over on the EU, it is better to stay in and fight for change as there are MANY member countries exhibiting signs of having had enough of being dictated to and sooner rather than later, Merkel and her French cronies will have no choice but to change.

If we're not paying it in, we will have it to spend.. explain how that is a myth ??

Cant see this, those that are pulling out will do so anyway, those that will stay, will stay. it may fluctuate initially but it will level out. Many very large companies have said leaving will be a massive relief for them (Tate & Lyle and others)

I remember it well. but those days are gone, low interest rates are the result of recession now. Not good for savings but good for borrowers. I was paying 15% interest on a £50k mortgage n 1989.. The EU is a busted flush.

40 years we have been in and our attempts at change have had no affect on this bureaucratic dictatorship yet, they won't change. Cameron went there with false promises of massive changes, he came back with his tail between his legs and nothing of any substance to offer but lies and threats.

The only way to change this farce is to force it.

Don't be afraid...its just more scaremongering!

    Vote out!!
