The Ruskies ain't gonna be happy campers when they arrive back in Lille town centre later today, and the place has been filling up with Welsh and English fans all day.

Sadly more agro on the cards tonight.

 

We could really do with a draw here, if I could be arsed.

Beat England and we go through.

 

so this is pretty much our genius @Benteknofrog scenario happening before our eyes

Basically russia are fairly ****ed and need to beat wales to have any chance of going through with england beating slovakia.

However..... the prediction was england out in group stage and it looks like england need to win or bust now.

Slovakia have 3 points, wales have 3 points. we have 1.

To get 2nd we need to beat one of the two teams.

IF we draw we could be looking at wales on 4 points, slovakia on 3 and us on 2 hoping to beat solvakia and take second.

 

Bascially yes. max for russia is now 4. max for slovakia is 6. you beat slovakia so if wales win they top the group automatically.

 

All done, any signs of the Russians getting nasty.

 

And if we get a draw and beat the slovaks we get either 1st or 2nd. If we get beaten but beat the slovaks, we are second or worst case 3rd.

So if we don't beat the welsh tomorrow, we HAVE to beat the slovaks otherwise we are coming home. 3 points wont be enough to be best 4 3rd

The french have either got to have maximum security on or be held to account for injuries (and deaths)

 

If we get a draw our max is 5 and wales 6... in that scenario 2nd is most likely and from there we end up heading to play fance... which = tonking.

I think we need to beat wales and then take on slovakia to try get top spot in group.

Wale can lose and get 2nd with 6 points... they are in best place.

wales can afford to draw this one and still beat the russians for 7 points.

 

reports are sketchy.

the press are not reporting well.

I read a whole bus of russians was stopped on a tip off and searched so for all we know a large group has been taken out of action.

In lille we saw a goading incident with only a small squad of russians that sky reported on having gum shields so there could have been more russians waiting to blitz chasers. we just don't know.

We do know they didn't do anything in stadium today.

its going to be crazy if the french are not all over these guys.

I am wondering on that now. I thought it would be enough but with hungary winning i am looking about the groups and wondering if all 6 won't have 3rd on at least3?

I am now looking at the Belgium group after ireland and sweden drew and hoping maybe 3rd in this group has 1 or 2 points.

france group has a decent romanian side so I'm wondering about that group... 3 points possible there too.

The result between ukraine and NI will be vital. if they draw thats a group gone.



Overall my worry about 3 draws is a GD of zero... if a side wins a game would have have negative GD? its hard to know. they would have had to lose 2 games so...

 

Very unlikely. 3 points may not get 3rd place but even then you need to be the best 4 (of 6) of the 3rd place. 3 draws mean a GD of 0.

group b: Us one point
group c: two teams on 0
group d: two teams on 0
group e: two teams second and 3rd on 1 point sweden and ireland
group f: two teams on one point portugal and iceland

So right now anything could occur.

question: do we think

romania and albania... will either get 3 points? france and swiss
NI and ukraine.. will either get 3? poland and germany in group
Czech and turkey.. interesting will they get 3??

then ireland and sweden... will either beat belgium..

when the second round is done i think it all becomes clear and is a guessing game now.

My best guess is only 2 come out of belgium italy group and Poland germany group. I'd kind of hope both groups might be 1 to 2 points in 3rd.

Hodgson is the issue with us.

the welsh are giving it large but we could see the slovakians had a clear plan to hurt the welsh.

it is hodgson's negativity that has hurt us and will continue to hurt us.

If we put vardy up against williams.... thats the hurt point. not kane, not sterling, certainly not lallana.

Leicester beat swnasea -0 in may but vardy didn't play. they beat them 3-0 last decemeber but mahrez scored 3... fast breaks is the way to go... thats leicesters game.

We need to hit that weak spot where williams can't run.

 

Games are quite open and it's down to the 3rd place option IMO.

 

We've been giving it the bants no doubt but why not? Got to enjoy it and win or lose tomorrow we are enjoying the experience.

It was funny Roy reacting to Bale though, he should have laughed out off or joined in with a bit of fun rivalry. I've no idea how tomorrow will pan out but we're up for it and all the pressure is on you lot.
