Great post HR. Good use of face palms. Keep up the good debate... Have you listened to absolutely nothing of late? If/when he goes, it is natural for him,to yes, say great club with ambition etc. What do you expect him to do, say he ****ed up, maybe wanted to stay but we called his bluff? ,fairly sure he was negotiating more money for transfers rather than for a few extra pounds for himself. Anyway, well done you...
Before the season ended, Koeman said that we didn't need many players, because he was happy with the squad. He added a proviso that the number (not sure if he said 1 or 2, or 2 or 3), would change, depending on sales. Assuming we sold no one, I would hope the transfer fund would be < £50m or £60m, for up to 3 players, plus a cut of sales money, to replace departures. I know prices will probably go up this summer, but £60m is 12 Charlie Austins, 5 Shlongs, or even 5 Wanyamas.
If/when he goes, it is natural for him,to yes, say great club with ambition etc. What do you expect him to do, say he ****ed up, maybe wanted to stay but we called his bluff? ------------------------------------------ Not sure why you feel the need to condone his behaviour, but for me, he has been dishonorale & disrespectful. I don't give a rats arse what crap he spouts now, but yeah, something like what you are muttering.
Not sure why you feel the need to condem, his behaviour. You know what, I thought this was a forum but people like you, and there a fair few on here actually don't seem to like the debate when people don't share the same view. I've had nothing but this since I started offering a different view, as did Impsaint and Tobes got a bit of a rough ride and didn't really do much wrong apart from writing in a scouse narrative. Tobes, if you wanna sign me for the Everton board I don't need anymore money, just make sure I have enough 'lecky in the meter for ne laptop to charge...
What would people think if he came out and publicly acknowledged what he'd done, apologised for being a twat? What if he then asked to sign the original offer? Would we accept him back a la Puncheon?
Doesn't matter why he has gone in terms of bigger wages or more transfer money, he publicly admitted, numerous times, that he was happy to stay and was positive about signing a new contract extension with us. That alone is the biggest reason for me. One of the last remaining honest people in football, who we all thought stood by his word, goes against it at the first time of asking.
I'd be surprised if we spent that much...seemed fairly telling that the board's article in the Telegraph mentioned that they felt Koeman was being supported in ways beyond the transfer budget, and contained no suggestion that it was going to change. I'd expect that we'll end up selling about 50-60m worth of players, and we'll bring in 60-70m worth.
How do you know it was at the 1st time of asking? Just curious. Let's just imagine for a second that he was negotiating for more transfer money, is that such a bad thing? RK said at the end of the season the team, the players had over performed. If I was him I'd ask for more money to try get even better players to enable this coach (who has become crap overnight since this all started) to get these new players over performing. Or does our board manage the credit for that, too. So if he tried this it may have backfired, doesn't make him a greedy fat ginger bastard in my eyes. I for one would welcome him to stay, and always thought it may happen, but equally not surprised if he goes. Now I'm not knocking our board, if they wavered as they were piss ed off he spoke with Everton, they have played a blinder both in PR and for the level of compensation. whoever we end up with I will back, but I will not join the general concensus of mud slinging, name calling and stuff without knowing all the facts or without accepting there are likely more sides to this. I accept if he does go even if for money, so be it and with my blessing.
Most would be happy, but however much he may like it here it wouldn't be enough to prostrate himself. Only fans love a club that much.
Koeman to be appointed tomorrow. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...onald-koeman-on-tuesday-after-return-from-ho/
Good...now we can go back to our original thoughts on the greedy treacherous bastard. When he's not ours he has no redeeming features. Hope his Achilles snaps so hard it knocks his head off.
