Yeah...didn't turn up, played far too defensively...just hoofed the ball back at them continuously....

It'll be tough. If we don't beat Ukraine all chance gone.

I thought Ukraine were unlucky last night, they looked a good outfit to me.

You're going to have to up your game considerably to get anything from that one mate.

You spent all game worrying about Lewandowski (and tbf he was kept quiet) and forgot about getting the ball out of your own half. Went into the game hoping for a 0-0.

Ukraine will be tough, play the same way as you did against Poland and you'll lose. The three CB's will be redundant as Ukraine's best three players will be happy to play in front of them rather than up against them (like Lew).

I think that England will just about scrape a win against Wales. What they need is to play like they did against Russia. So damn unlucky to concede that last minute goal. Gutted.

There is no doubt in my mind that England is better than Wales. The obvious danger man is Bale and as long as he is kept quiet and England does not give away free kicks in dangerous areas, we should win. Normally I would say no problem. But this is a Leicester season...;)

Other than the goal Bale had a bad game, there was plenty of threat from Allen and Ramsey and lots of work and running from everyone, if we can frustrate for 30 mins I can see us getting a win. Who has the better players? England but Wales have a team that plays for each other.

I already responded to the bale had a bad game. Have to hugely disagree.

Bale didn't get the ball much but he didn't get much service as Ramsay was hugely wasteful with all his hollywood balls and losing possession fairly easily (good that he's trying things and he did have a lot of energy, pretty much a slightly more technical milner).

As for when Bale did get the ball, a couple of times he was crowded out of it, but he setup Ramsay with a peach of a ball with the outside of his foot and he also played Ramsay in again when they were 2 on 2 only for Ramsay to do a standard arsenal and not shoot before being crowded out.

He also had an okay shot saved and he was unlucky not to score with a header when he absolutely bossed the defender in the air all alongside his goal (which the keeper messed up).

Why didn't bale get to touch the ball much? Maybe cause he was the further guy forward and probably told to stay up there being marked by both centre backs, much better for the team as it gave the midfielders more space. Far better than doing a rooney and dropping deep to compress the play and then having no one up there.

When Kanu came on, Bale was able to get on the ball a lot more and cause more havoc. The only criticism of bale was whilst the rest of the team were working hard and running like dogs, Bale was strolling a bit and looked pretty knackered

Thought Ledley was excellent, set up the winner with the through ball to Ramsey

yup was a very good substitution. Slovakia were beginning to impose themselves and i thought the other dms were looking a bit leggy. Ledley definitely added more shape and protection to the team.

Kanu also had an impact other than the goal both subs were at the right time.

By his standards it wasn't great he gave the ball away in dangerous areas on a few occasion and one almost cost us with that Hamsik run.

Doesn't matter who is 'better' in tournaments as evidenced by the Russia game, whatever 'better' means

I'm not sure I agree with that anyway

By better I mean England have better players. You could argue that Wales are more of a team than England but even if that's true, it can take you so far. Yes, we don't have anyone like Bale but all over the pitch we are "better". Our GK is better, FBs are better. Ashley williams could slot in our central defence. In central midfield, Dier and Rooney are marginally better than the Welsh with Ramsey. Bale is better than the likes of Sterling in the wings but then kane is better than their striker.

But I agree it all depends on how they perform on the day!
