For once I agree with Shearer. It might be a simple point but a midfielder should always be looking to play the ball forward and Kroos is obsessed with doing just that. Good!

With regards to Russia/England possibly being disqualified, UEFA should be "disqualified" by their national associate FA's from holding tournaments until they learn from past mistakes, last night there was almost another Heysel when the Russian hooligans forced retreating England fans into a wall, thank **** the wall was more sturdier than the one at Heysel.
The scum from whatever nation involved once inside any stadium in any competition should not have the freedom to attack opposition supporters, UEFA today have said what goes on outside the stadiums is down to the local authorities, but stupid ticket allocation and segregation and no police in a stadium is a recipe for a disaster.

Kroos and modric at real. These 2 are a real class act and i dont know why people always mention barca over real. These 2 for me are nearly on par with xavi and iniesta in their prime. Zidane seems to have found his answer in casimiro for his version of busquets

Think he was in the last year of his contract. Think it was also 25 million euros. I remember having a good laugh as i thought he was class at the time and he went for a pittance whereas you guys were splashing out on markovic, lovren lallana and co for roughly the same price.

Gotze is just not a striker. Its amazing that Germany can produce such an array of talented players but none of them are Strikers, only Gomez in the squad is a striker and TBH he's always been average.

Gomez has a decent goal scoring record at club level to be fair.

Ps, probably time to change the signature "2014/15 Stevie G Prediction League Champion"

I think it's because they've not had a Busquets type player and Kroos in particular gets criticised for his lack of defensive qualities. WHY? Because he replaced Alonso who was a masterclass at both. But Kroos, in his own right is a fantastic midfielder going forward. I hope Casimiro adds that defensive quality.

Germany played most of that game at walking pace.

Germany look vulnerable. I dont fancy them to go far this tournament especially if he persists with gotze up front. Thought muller was the business up there in the world cup so i have no idea why hes now shoving muller wide right. Loew trying to be too clever for his own good.

Fancy poland to top the group

Top finish from Schweinsteiger. Made it look a lot easier than it was. Germany never got out of 2nd gear to be honest... is that because they couldn't or didn't need to?

They always look slow to begin with though.
    I wouldn't bet against them, Bobby. <ok>

I definitely would. Saying that though there are no standout teams. I just look at the german team and it looks top heavy to me and not in a good way. They are great at passing the ball but even that has gone majorly downhill with no schweinsteiger in there. Khedira for me is just not at that level anymore and whereas before they would dominate with that trio and could make up for the lack of work ethic from the likes of ozil and gomes, this team isnt good enough for me.

I know its just 1 game but muller looked knackered tonight and wasnt his busy self. He made a few runs but a lot of the time he was just in the centre of the field. Their width just isnt the same with hector and howedes as howedes isnt a full back and hector is not in lahms class. The other thing is, except for draxler and at a push muller they have a serious lack of pace in the first 11 if thats what lowe goes with.

    Just my opinion

All good points. It's just that they manage to pull the rabbit out of the hat so often I wouldn't put it past them again. They didn't look like they could be bothered in that game.

All they need is to bring in Can and they'll be unstoppable. <whistle>

I find it interesting that uefa have clearly given both england and Russia same warning.

The English press have been trying to play off a lot of English antics as innocent victims but there is a clear cohort of hooligans there. The Russians have managed to waltz over the borders in Poland or wherever armed and ready to go

The French however need punishment too.

The poles and northern irish wrre set upon in nice and Marseilles ultras were out in force so.... France not very football friendly.

I suppose it's good that the Wales England game is on early, less time to get smashed before the game. Hope it goes off without and fan clashes.

    Suppose....

I'd say the less time fine but loads of time day before and after the game to cause trouble.

The French will be out to cause lots of trouble I think.

Wales vs England- Winner takes ALL.
I predict a draw can't see Wales losing.

Having seen both games I think Wales will top group with a draw and the only way England can is by winning.

The Slovaks had a plan v Wales. Target Williams who's legs look shot. England will of course put Kane up on his own here and leave vardy out. ... it's lunacy.

    Must win for England.

    Must not lose for Wales.

I think having seen Russia that Wales are already through group with min 6 points.
