I don't understand it Stick and feel gutted for you. Is Attwater the problem as I can't believe he has had his instructions disregarded on so may occasions. Is he not confident enough to tell a Jockey how he wants it ridden ? or does he himself not spot the obvious?

Once again Squire doing all his best work late on but fails due to a lack of immediate acceleration.

He really is not a complicated ride as you stick him just behind the leader with a clear view of the front and you send him on before anyone else has even thought of asking their mount, this means he gets longer to hit top gear ( which he needs) and it plays to his strengths which is a lasting top speed and a willingness once at top speed.

Michael, Jim, Pat, and now Andre never ever hold Squire up, he cannot accelerate quickly and once the others have done so he will not make up the ground, go first always and let them catch you, he will give you every bit that he has and a bit more, he wont let you down so you should not let him down. If we need make it easier for you please just imagine the winning line is the 1 furlong pole.

    Rant over.

Must be so frustrating but I'd guess he may drop a bit as a result. Hope I live long enough to see Squire and yourselves get your reward!

Not on your way out are you Gaz? got me a bit worried there!

I am also convinced that a mile is Squire's trip, he gives the impression of needing further only because of how he is being ridden. He needs a stiff mile which he himself can ensure if ridden correctly.

    Yarmouth
    5.25 Cryptic 9-2

I backed this quite heavily ( for me anyway ) last time out and was convinced it would win, the horse ran no sort of race however and I feel deserves another chance, I am not going in so heavily today but am hopeful of an altogether better showing win or lose.

<laugh> bluesy I'm fine. I actually put money into my online account and took 2 days to get it to connect in order to have a Euro e/w on Squire. Still the sun here in Spain is making the loss easier to take.<cheers>

Oh Grace 2/1 should be up to winning the opening race at Leopardstown. That form with Cuff is already working well and she's steady in the market against the O'Brien newcomer too which is a good sign.

I shall print this out and give it to the next man on board.

He is a nine furlong horse at Newmarket!

I understand the feeling that he may get a pound or two back but that is so frustrating when we feel he should be heading in the other direction.

Annoyingly chaps I told my co-owners that ICONIC was the danger, 25/1 and didn't have a penny on!

She did that tidily enough there Oh Grace. Cuff gets another form boost. Heavily punted before flag fall too <ok>

Little treble for me today. Playing up a bit of cash for fun.

    East Street
    McKinley
    Mts Burbidge

Missed Squire's run and just saw the replay. Not exactly helped by the draw. The ride was kind of forced on him i thought by the time he'd tacked over but it is galling when there's so little pace in a race.

I'd consider sending him to a lesser track in future. There's a lot of Newmarket, Sandown and now Newbury in his form and they will always attract reasonably strong, competitive fields. If you want to get a win with that horse i think you need to be dropping down a level and gaining some more confidence.

Unfortunately, I did not get to see Squire’s race but looking at the result he was only beaten about three lengths in seventh in what looks a pretty bunched finish. Obviously, I have read on here that things did not go as planned (right from the gate), so I guess I will be joining the queue with everyone else waiting for his next appearance.

A friend gave me a tip yesterday evening that I thought was running last night until I looked and saw that Hamilton was the night meeting and it was running in the 8:45 at Haydock, which is today. Seeing the betting it was 7/1 and I could not see any reason why that would disappear for an ordinary midweek handicap. I should have taken into account that it is one of Mick Easterby’s with an apprentice on that I do not know. Now it is down to just 5/1 and the beast goes by the name of BOSHAM.

At least I landed a little each way punt with this one.

Thanks for all the feedback lads, I do actually quote a lot of it back to Michael and he does see that a lot of it makes sense.
I hope I don't bore you all with talk of our horses.

I love the passion from both yourself and the don when talking about your horses stick. Cracking stuff and just shows that it isn't just a game for the mega-rich. Long may you continue <cheers>

Not at all, stick. It is like being one of the owners but without all the bills.

We need Princess to sort the forum out with one of those Frankel two-year-olds but something makes me think we might be a few bob short in the sales ring...

That Bosham has been a revelation on the AW QM but his turf record is pretty tame, 1 from 23! Really well handicapped though if he is good to go and the money suggests it's likely. Good luck <ok>

The Godolphin horse is being heavily supported first time up vs Fraankus in that 7.45. It will be interesting to see how is shapes up nearer the off...
