Okazaki thinks Vardy will be a success at Arsenal.

‘I think he has the potential to adapt to any style of soccer. At Leicester, we just happened to play the way we did and he fit fine,’ Okazaki told the Japan Times.

‘But even in a team that plays possession soccer, he has that sudden burst of speed and there are a lot of players at Arsenal who will notice that right away and play to that strength of his, like the way they did with Danny Welbeck."

<laugh> Is he taking the piss with the Welbeck reference?

Today's goss:

Riyad Mahrez is leaning towards leaving Leicester even though the club have offered the PFA Player of the Year a massive new contract.

Mahrez has been the subject of interest from top sides at home and abroad — including Arsenal — and doubts over the future of team-mates Jamie Vardy and N'Golo Kante are making him mull over whether to ask for a transfer.

Sources indicate a move is on the agenda while confirming discussions over fresh terms have taken place.

Pleasing to see that Leicester City continue to be THE footballing news ...and many thanks to our new fan, Stan, for his continued interest and collation... :)

No problem Fosse.

Although this is a thread about players leaving Leicester. What else did you expect to be posted in it when you, tongue in cheek, started it?

I would really like to see how that team plus some additions do in the CL next season but unfortunately if Vardy goes it will probably mean that others will follow. Some will say that they understand Vardy looking at the pay off at his age and I understand that point of view but to me he's rich enough, enjoy your football and the memories other than leaving and becoming a small cog in a very slow boring engine.

Pretty much how I see it on the Vardy front ...in terms of retaining him, I think he realises that he is the main man with us ..and quite likes that ..with the Goons it would be very different...

I think Vardy will decide to stay at Leicester as long as they agree to his pay demands.
