Deeney is a good shout, Remy would be a great shout.

How about Foristieri

Anyone think we should go for Shelvey?

Personally, I don't want anyone who hasn't played in the English leagues. It takes far too long for them to get used to the speed and physical nature of the English game. We have also demonstrated we are diabolical at signing strikers from abroad, most of which have been disastrous, Hernandez taking 12 months and a relegation to a poorer division to look anything like capable. We still don't know how he'll perform back in the PL.

Lambert
Crouch
Deeney
Pelle
Gayle
Nakhi Wells

I'd also have a look at Martin at Derby, he's big and awkward, but not very quick - so he'd need a quick forward alongside him.

Nakhi Wells would also be a great signing, although I'm still annoyed we could have had him on a free and we let him go.

On the point about foreign players, why is that when Hull City sign a foreign striker they inevitably fail, but other teams sign them and they're fine? Surely that says more about us than the players themselves?

let's buy someone who's scored lots of goals in the second division of another country. that would work. or we could buy one of those african strikers who has to go play in the african nations cup from january till april. or we could take a chance on the top scorer from either the gibraltar or malta premier league. when we get them here, we can play them up front as a lone striker. oh, and make them defend for corners. that'd work. i don't know why nobody hasn't already thought of these things.

Clayton Failla, who we had on trial in pre season, got 6 goals and 10 assists last season. Go on Grimsby, go get him.

As I said before, only if a) he isn't going to Everton as well (could happen with Lukaku leaving) and b) Southampton don't want him as their main striker.

I think b is key. He was bought (in advance) to replace Pelle this summer, wasn't he? Has anything happened to change their plans?

I like foristietri so he'd do for me, we'd then still need a lambert style forward.
I'm not sure we'd get deeney
As a punt rather than wells what about madden?

I mentioned Madden in the January window and got blasted for it. Despite the fact he's got an excellent scoring record. He's quick, skilful and direct - exactly what PL defenders don't like (See Vardy).

I'd have a look at him too. He'd be a better bet than some of the ****e we've signed from abroad.

He'd be as good punt as anyone, and if he does half as well as vardy then that's 99% better than the rest of our strikers we've taken a chance on

He had a good record in League 1 and 2, but at Championship level he lasted something like 7 games before Yeovil transfer listed him. If we were looking at Will Grigg then Madden would be an obvious alternative. At least Wells has made the step up from League 1 well.
