Having the last word seems to be a speciality of our Antipodean friends...one of yours Syd ? Zyzzyva/ˈzɪzɨvə/ is a genus of tropical American weevil often found in association with palms. It is a snouted beetle. "Zyzzyva" is the last word in many English-language dictionaries. The yellowish weevil is no longer than an ant.
Amusing considering you've had the last word on most spats, and in this one BCC had the last word numerous times before OLM decided to move it.
Check again to prove it. Unless OLM forgot to move some of BCC's posts. It's fine to do that, it's not derailing anything. Oh I forgot: ellewoods said: ↑ No my apologies after all my original post was stupid and you shouldnt have been forced to consider trying to engage in with a post of that quality. I will attempt to only make posts that you find quality and worth engaging at the same time from here on out. Click to expand... Eh? You're trying to be clever and smarmy but that post doesn't make any sense. Get back to me when you've done Economics 101. #265 SydneyTiger14, Tuesday at 8:39 PM
With your Economics 101 superior insight, how much would Burnley, 'Boro and Hull City (tier 1), or say Leeds, Sheff. Wed or Derby in tier 2 have garnered if sold , lets say last January 1st ? ................................................................................................................................................................................................................ Quote # 1 In the New Owners? thread when you went on about how owners would rather buy a Championship club as it's cheaper to get promoted than buy a PL club, which is utter rubbish or no PL club would ever get sold. #105 SydneyTiger14, Today at 9:17 AM --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote # 2 Swansea look like they're going to be bought for 100m, which is obviously less than the 170m of guaranteed revenue they're about to get. #300 SydneyTiger14, Today at 7:27 PM PS. Only a spat btw
The Swansea comment was on the topic of owners buying us, hardly trying to have the last word on something. Ellewoods and I took the discussion to PM where it was resolved pretty amicably, with both agreeing the other had misundertood eachother. You constantly come in and dance a merry jig in the aftermath of a debate and take potshots at me, and then expect me not to respond otherwise you're proven right that I need to have the last word. With BCC he and someone else carried on well after I'd stopped the discussion, note my "Is this rubbish still going? I came in here for transfer news" after they'd carried on for another few hours.
Attempting to understand the logic of statements made is dancing a merry jig ? Attempting to point out inconsistencies/unknowns in your statements (how do you know any of the promoted clubs in the last few seasons spent more than Swansea did attempting to stay up - you have 3 minutes to google that data), and why spend the energy posting so many items before you came on with your face saving comment "Is this rubbish still going on ?" (insulting comment), when you actually initiated it ? Potshots my arse. It's not a "points gathering exercise", something I may have suggested to you before. It may be a comment about your ability to see other's perspectives I do admit. "Wind your head in" is your oft used phrase. Use it.
I'm not talking in this instance, I'm referring to previous instances where you've attempted to have the last word by jumping into things. I have no idea what point you're trying to make. Buying a PL club comes with guaranteed revenue streams, so will be a more attractive proposition to an owner who can afford it, I have no idea why you're trying to argue to the contrary.
Sorry mate. I come in to conversations when I log on, with my opinion and (to you) contrary thoughts/ideas. If you check back you may well discover I never have the last word, unless you a) insult me or someone else or b) you go to bed. Guaranteed income streams are attractive. The other side of the deal (O/S debts against existing assets) are significant factors. Did your economics ever extend to the intricacies of M & As, leveraged buy-outs etc ? It is never as straightforward as the "pot of gold" most laymen usually see. Buyers of enterprises look at future potential and ways to maximize their investments. That could be a "bargain" PL club or a well established Championship club with potential. The savvy investor may well divest "good or bad" assets to meet their objectives. Potential is the key. As is good management & in the football world ( actually, sport in general) luck plays an exceptional part in that success. Being able to afford it is one thing, or access to finance, obviously. It is not the only thing to be considered. It's easy to be fooled by the inflation in PL riches. Three of them are relegated every season.
After having a discussion with that toolbar Mr Shoes the other day about multiple accounts (he probably wasn't one of them and was just copying and pasting somebody elses ideas due to lack of his own) have decided am not engaging in unfriendly debate with anybody on here again, would rather just read the news and opinions. Total waste of time arguing as this thread demonstrates.
dont start on me sonny jim, just cos you are bored and homeless.. try going for a **** to pass the time or go feed the ducks from your park bench.
I'm definitely giving him some negative feedback next time i'm in there please log in to view this image
I reckon if everyone gets a bit drunk and really tries, this thread can end up longer than the transfer one.
