Is Saintsweb on fire? I know they were blaming the board last night. But can't be arsed to check now.
Where's all this AVB talk come from though, I highly doubt it's going to be him, in fact I'd be shocked.
I'm not sure went wrong in Russia, but his Basel team was fantastic. I remember watching them in Europa action. High press, with a lot of young players. Very similar in style to Pochettino's saints. I'm not sure how much of that was down to him though. They may have their own Les Reed?
Where are the markets for next saints manager? I can't find any even with some very specific Googling!
Me neither. Of course the businessman can carry on with his ridiculous spending, but that will only end one way.
I do, although with the caveat they were both the right people at the right time. Who agrees with me that Koeman had to go unless he signed an extension anyway. IMO, this might be just right for us!
Very different approaches. Pochettino needs a group of players willing to buy into his philosophy, not to mention being fit enough, and willing to work hard enough, to play 90 mins in the opponents half. And his style of football absolutely requires a world class central defensive pairing. Give him that and he's probably the better coach. Koeman is more pragmatic. Both are ****ers.
That's because the markets aren't interested in who SFC will acquire. The story is still of what can be extracted from Southampton FC.
It was yesterday definitely. I have avoided today. It is quite hysterical (I confused the forums earlier when i posted). Seems like that site you pay £5 to be able get incredibly stressed out
Some odd names there (Hughes, Laudrup, Sherwood, Redknapp). I had to google one of them (John Hughes). I would have thought that our next manager would not be someone who most people have to google to know who they are Not much of a market. Long odds for most. Worried about Martinez being in there. I can understand Koeman moving to Everton for money but why would a manager who has taken a team who were better than us, below us two seasons in a row would be even considered is beyond me
I would hope there is some sort of clause involved where you can't sign one of our players in an 'x' amount of time to be honest. Think Swansea did something similar with Rodgers and Liverpool?
I don't understand this trend of players jumping in at the higher end management jobs. It doesn't really go that well and then they become reluctant to step down. Tim Sherwood is the textbook example here. Found out at Villa and now I would imagine is pretty much off the radar for any premier league club but his already considerable ego has been inflated to the point that he will not drop down and manage any time soon.
Just become a free agent, Managed in the Prem before, used to European competition - I'd be more surprised if his name didn't pop up in the speculation! I'd also gladly take him if he wanted to come.
