HDM sounding like the sale is off.. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Prop...tml?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed
Yes I was just reading that story. Doesn't fill me with joy as I was really hoping for a clean slate. Surely even the Allams can see nothing good is going to come of staying on...
Doesn't add anything new. It seems its solely based on Ehab's "I'll ask the family if they still want to sell" statement.
There is a follow up statement about that seemingly increasingly likely after the last few days. When the HDM says things like that, it's rarely based on speculation.
It just says Ehab hasn't changed his mind from the Sky interview. I'm sure he would like to keep Hull City, far more sexy than owning a generator company, or he may just be playing hard to get to push up the price now that there are three serious bidders.
"Having been put up for sale in April 2014 in the wake of a failed bid to the Football Association to change the club's name, both chairman Assem Allam and vice-chairman Ehab Allam have repeatedly stressed they are actively looking for a buyer. However, that stance appears to have softened in the wake of a return to the Premier League and a sale which had recently looked likely could now be off the table. Speaking to Sky Sports less than 24 hours after seeing City beat Sheffield Wednesday at Wembley to reclaim their top-flight status, Ehab Allam suggested the family were now considering their options. That stance, particularly from City's vice-chairman, has not changed in the subsequent days with holding onto the club now a real possibility" The bold is adding on top of the Sky Sports comments.
And there were all those people who said promotion was much more likely to result in a takeover. Who said that again...?
Yep, if he doesn't sell I'll admit I was wrong. Surprising though, and still think a sale will occur.
You actually get the feeling, after the euphoria of Saturday, that we hadn't been promoted, new owners had come in and we'd have got back to the prem in another year or two.
It appears to me that most of what Hull Daily Mail report about Hull City is speculation. Daily rumours ad nauseum would be a better title for their sports pages.
Their rumours round up is, of course, that. But don't forget Buckingham is pretty close to the club on this sort of stuff.
They'd sell more papers with the headline.... 'It's on!!!!.... they're actually ****ing off..... open top bus parade of them leaving the city...'
Perceived reluctance to sell would push the price up, or at least harden their stance in negotiations
We've had the club up for sale since the name change rejection Oh wait we don't know if we want to sell What a set of clowns
I think you're wrong if the price is a sticking point. Negotiations were at an advanced stage prior to Saturday it seems. An agreement in principle would have been made to sell the club with a set price for being in the premiership and another for being in the championship. NO major company is going to fart arse around with the likes of the Allams moving goalposts, they to them are loose change. The new owners plan was 'to make Hull City one of the 10 richest clubs in the country'. If the Allams had two brain cells, they should have a caveat in a contract for a percentage share off future profitability if its down to money. But as has been said, this seems to not be about money, but rather a penis extension for the first born.
Why put the club up for sale It's all posturing , it's all they do and we're all bored of it Allams out
