I wish Monk well and really pleased we got him.

However Newcastle and Villa are shoe-ins for promotion leaving just 1 place left and we dont have the ammo or financial clout to do it. way over half the teams in the division have been in the prem in the last few years, we dont stand a chance.

Every season I say the same thing as its true but even more so now. Parachute payments and prem cash have fooked the league. Village pub teams who invested wisely and even bounced a couple of times are able to do it and we cannot compete anymore with the likes of Wigan still, Stoke, WBA, Nowich, Southampton. we're fooked so may as well get used to it because without a very rich benefactor we will not get anywhere near. Monk could be a geniuo and have average players doing a Barcelona but I doubt it

Interesting you say Villa are shoe-ins for promotion (I think Newcastle are). Prior to their buy-out a lot of people in the game (and I had the same opinion) thought that Villa would struggle to avoid back-to-back relegations. They really were that bad last season. They have so much work to do to put them into a position that they can get promoted, not saying its impossible but seems too much for one summer.

You have a good un lads. He knows the leagues, knows the attitudes of players through all the levels, he was succesful at the top but the Prem is an unforgiving place and eventually he fell fowl of having to change from one of the boys to gaffer down here. Hope your chairman gives him time because he gave us many good times despite what some (Laudrup lovers) try to say.

Its normal that a coach looks back for signings and I recon there are a few seasoned pros like Emnes and Bartley who may do a great job. We also have a very good crop of u21s who are knocking on the door. I would rather see them play for us, but a cheeky bid for Matty Grimes (England U21 starlet) could be a season changer for ya and we have a little speedster called Kenjie Gorre who has an eye for goal.

Any assistance you need to help beat our bitter and twisted neighbours to promotion is not an issue :)

Josh just look at the new manager and first team coach. Showing intent and next season will show just how much. Get ready for a clear out and see what they do. Newcastle nailed on under Benites and he stays only because he got control of team affairs and cash. (Hope Monk got the same)
