Towards the end of Rafa's tenure I got the sense that the two weren't getting along. Eg. a win against Chelsea could have got us 4th and CL I think. But Gerrard misplaced a back pass which Drogba scored from. I don't think Rafa was pleased.
Ilkay Gündogan to City.. Done.. Great signing for them, if he can stay injury free, the boys a player!
Top player for 20m is a snip. But injury problems and big injury problems over last 2/3 years and a dislocated knee cap can't be easy to recover from. Certainly strengthens a key area where they are currently week though.
I agree. a dislocated knee cap didn't put city off so he won't be back will october? clearly guardiola knows exactly what he needs.
Klopp too knows what he needs.. but unlike City, we can't match their wages and the fact they have CL footie.. We'll see how much The "Klopp" draw really is... I think has fans we need to re-assess our expectations, don't think we'll be signing the likes of Reus, Gotze, Gundagon (obviously not now..) and the like.. I think/hope Klopp wants to sign the players he can develop into players that will be as good as those above, he's done it countless times, no reason he can't do it again.. I also think that Branagan is the type of Player Klopp likes, very good Technical player, if he can be moulded into the type of player Klopp needs, then we have, potentially, one hell of a player, he's also bloody decent a set pieces too!
the issues so far: 1. Gotze... someone is either putting words in his mouth or he was only ever interested in CL. Seems to be being whored out to anyone listening. (barca and real... please) arsenal is latest 2. Rutiger... bought by roma for 6 as they had an agreement to buy after loan (like alderweirld) but roma did get the deal done and now he's being hawked baout for 23mil. was klopp trying to trump roma.. was it press talk? are cheslea in for him... interesting a LFC V roma friendly has just been announced... anyhting in this? 3. Zeilinski.. keeps getting pictured in LFC shirt. can't agree fee with the owners cos they also own watford and are tryign to get sinclair for less.. so... well napoli are in? who knows 4. Guerriero.. linked to us and half the world. Dortmund now hot favorites 5. now linked to htis kid hojbjerg from bayern who is 20.. been linked to ACmilan and now us? more agent talk? 6. Chilwell... meh.. no experience. nobody else seems in but fee looks big 7. Hector... has vanished... So... whats going on.. are agents all over the place using LFC.. is our transfer strategy already in disarray? I dunno. We need to see a really good CM and LB come. after that i think we will have to see.
To be honest, those two positions are key! We "appear" to have better competition/replacement for Mings. We have acquired a quality CB to be added to Lovern, Sahko and Gomez.. Gomez can also cover Clyne... Moreno needs demoting and Smith needs to be sold so new, starting LB is KEY! Can we know is Klopps man, we need a Gundagon'esqe player to play along side him! Up top, yes, would never say not to more quality but we not that bad up top.. Origi, Sturridge with Ings as back up, Firmino as False 9 when needed.. Coutinho MUST be more consistent next year.. Given the lack of Europe, we may not see that many players bought in this year now.. a couple/three more quality additions will go a long way! Can see more players leaving that joining!
Good points on the bit of work done so far. We can't know what's going on. we can only judge in late august... but we know what we think we need and so so every hack and agent out there and they all love a LFC get turned down left and right story. (whispers... I've written off depending on coutinho already) we need a better spine and not rely on a little bit of magic once in a while from certain players. If we solidify the defense that would be best thing we can do this year IMO. I think we can buy guys to develop but to find a guy not stuck in an agents arsehole or thinking CL is the only thing... OR someone ayre doesn't offer 50% the going rate too.. well its tough
and yes without europe we could have 40 games to play next year... hopefully more yes but with say 5 in each cup thats still 48 games. The thing i see is that strikers are no issues. The line of 3 behind are the issue and klopp's been after one each window. needs better players and more competition to play the game he wants. then CM is weak IMO, can't control the game at all... and LB as we've said. LB, CM, ACM/RW for me are the three.

Everton news and transfer rumours LIVE: Koeman 'on his way to Merseyside' http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...s/everton-news-transfer-rumours-live-11414453
He was first choice, but knocked us back over a week ago, it appears he's had a change of heart. However, he appears to have over played his hand, as the job has since been offered to Emery - we're awaiting his answer. So he's now playing second fiddle. I'd be more than happy with either tbh, but if I was having money on it (and I have lol) then it'd still be on Emery.
hmmm... Interesting. Next permanent Everton manager: 5/4 Ronald Koeman; 5/2 Unai Emery; 5/1 Frank de Boer; 7/1 David Moyes; 7/1 Manuel Pellegrini; 10/1 Roberto Mancini; 14/1 Paulo Fonseca; 16/1 Ryan Giggs; 20/1 BAR So lay koeman... it could simply be a wild rumour and bet emery? I eman I don't know if emery is a sure deal but if i did 5/2 is a very nice return at this point.
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has reportedly turned down the latest contract offer from the White Hart Lane club. The 29-year-old has held talks with chairman Daniel Levy over an improved five-year deal, having signed a similar-length deal two summers ago.
