I'm chilled. Concessions are important.

Well said - concessions ARE important, we lost youngsters in the 80's & 90's when we were truly struggling; driving them away by taking concessions from them is the ultimate in stupidity.

That means nothing. You say that they have concessions. Hull City AFC do not have concessions, they have told you that and a broad reasonable interpretation of the terms would agree with that.

I don't say Hull City has concessions. In fact I don't think they comply with the Premier League Rules. But that isn't the point. Its whether the Premier League think they comply.

Juniors and pensioners have priority for seats in zone 1. They are cheaper than equivalent seats in other parts of the ground, namely the North and West stands. The club could argue that they are providing these seats cheaper to accommodate those entitled to a concessionary reduction. Whether the Premier League accept that is another matter. The same applies to the zone 2 family stand which is cheaper than the equivalent seats in the North stand.

If the Premier League reject the scheme Hull City could offer concessions in the family stand similar to the Arsenal arrangement. If a child or pensioner pays full whack in another part of the ground that's their choice. The Premier League is not going to tell Arsenal to change its arrangements, or Southampton, or any other club unless the rule is changed to include the offer of concessions in every part of the ground.

What it means for us is that the Premier League may not be the cavalry riding over the hill to save us. My gut feeling is that what City have implemented isn't that much different from what other Premier League clubs have in place. The season starts soon so we'll know in the near future.

Yes they are ..agreed. Concessions for children and the elderly etc are important in life e.g. age limits for conscription. But this is only football. Obviously you are both intelligent and knowledgeable people.

The South Stand is cheaper than the North Stand for similar views and is the designated family stand.

Not exactly true Obi.

In the South Stand block S3 in the designated family stand which has the same views as block N5 in the North Stand is more expensive than N5.

What I find most frightening about this scheme is they spent 2 years putting it together.

I didn't mean that to sound like concessions in football are not important , they are.

Even the club don't believe they have concessions, you don't, so why would the PL?

I agree N5 is cheaper but its in zone 1. Those entitled to concessions under the old system have priority for these seats and therefore may be considered as concessionary seats.

I think all this is academic really
There are two potential outcomes
1. The As stay and cling on to the existing scheme no matter what. Either they'll convince the Premier Leagues it's ok, or they will challenge it in arbitration or they'll give as little as possible (one concession seat for a lucky young person and another one for a senior)
2. We will have new owners and the first thing you'd expect them to do is put some concession in place in order to get all fans behind them in one easy move (apart maybe from the one child and senior mentioned in option 1!) And I don't buy that they'd have to put other prices up either, next season the ticket prices are tiny to the overall income, maybe they'll have to do that if we go down, but not before

The club do believe they have offered concessions. Some seats that used to be the same price are now cheaper solely to accommodate young people and the elderly. These people have priority over adults for these seats. That is why the PL may believe the club is offering concessions.

Where have the club said they have offered concessions? Or is that just your interpretation of it.

Actually I'm wrong, they might have to make 4 seats cheaper
2 for young supporters & 2 for senior supporters.

The FAQs in brochure:

Families

"The zone 1 areas outside of the Family Stand are open to all concessions and those who accompany them to have a priority choice on selecting available seats."

Seniors

"If you choose to move you'll have a priority choice on the cheapest zone [zone 1], where you'll be able to take advantage of lower prices."

My addition.

It is a pity you struggle with the basics, to be fair. You jumped in, with a wonderfully pompous diatribe about hypothetical concessions, without even bothering to do your reading,

Funny.

For all the wrong reasons.

I accept that. What you seem to miss is that at all times they refer to the concessions of pre- membership scheme ticketing, specifically season pass card holders. Once they make their decision over where to sit and what to pay, they join the scheme and cease to be concessions. Read it, it is clear.

I don't miss anything. Are they allowing single adults to pay the concessionary price in zones 1 and 2 or are children and pensioners paying the adult price?

The concession issue doesn't effect me whatsoever other than my old man may get a reduction if the PL enforce concessionary pricing.
All this bickering started when i said i was one who the new membership scheme benefited, as it allows me to watch cheaper (now PL) football than i have been able to over recent years. That is all i said and i was flamed and called from a pig to a dog for doing so.

So are you telling me that they will let pre-membership concessions (2015/16 ST holders) buy Season Tickets or memberships in zones 1 & 2 at a rate similar to their 2015/16 prices? A rate that is significantly lower to full priced supporters in the same zones? If that is the case then concessions do exist, but you said you don't think they do. I believe everyone on each zone pays the same as the supporter sat next to them - a cheap rate, but not concession (as we all understand it).

If you want to argue pointless semantics then carry on without me.
