San Jose isn't bad either, has developed into a very good player.

What's with people starting Bellerin over Juanfran, he's part of one of the best defences in Europe. Just don't ask him to take a penalty and you're sound.

Players have to play. San Jose shows it.

Sitting about getting paid and having it easy at big clubs like say shaqiri etc it does no favours long term.

I'm glad San Jose has gone and done something for himself.

Yup. Still amazes me the amount of young players that just hang around under 21's of big teams for 3/4 years instead of saying **** it, and going to a team to play first team football. 40 first team games in any league is worth twice as much as 120 under 21 games for a big club.

Based on a 30 match season at U 21 level though, to reach 240 games you'd need to be playing for 8 seasons at U21 level meaning starting at age 13. I reckon if you're playing U21 level at 13.. you'd back yourself to make the first team by time you're 17/18

What a load of BS. the guy supposedly took supplements without as you say the clubs consent. What's that to do with his national team spot?

I'm sorry but I've read so much berating of Sakho on here. I'm a Liverpool fan and I am against any form of cheating. But the substance is NOT banned which IS a relevant factor rather than your load of tosh loyalty which never lets go of his mistake in not seeking medical advice from the club. Don't get me wrong I know the difference between moral right and wrong, but I also know that treating him like this is unfair and leaving him out of the disproportionate to what the act itself was.

Seriously some of you need to get a grip. Reality, proportion and rationale. Not everything is black and white and it's about time you guys cut him some slack. Yes he's paid enough to shoulder a responsibility, but let's face it - he's still a human who are prone to errors.

Don't mean to get personal but it's something I've read far too many times recently.

Can't agree there Lil Jatt. He tested positive for a banned substance; he's arguing that it shouldn't be banned, UEFA is investigating and has lifted the provisional ban, but the case is still open and I can understand the national team not wanting to pick someone who's got an open doping test against them (albeit a minor one), especially given that his form has been patchy. Ultimately, this whole situation wouldn't be here if it hadn't have been for his acitons and the only one to blame is Sakho himself for his stupidity.

IMO Sakho has only been left out because the ban lifting came too late. Deschamps isn't a mug like Hodgson who will pick a guy because he becomes available the day before flying out.

The main ****up by UEFA is in taking so long over everything. Everything needs to be as slow as possible to justify their power and expense. The same with the FA who took an entire season over the Ings transfer to come to conclusion that the average of Liverpool's valuation of £6m and Burnley's valuation of £12m is about £8m.

You see that seems a more rationale viewpoint. But the Sakho bashing which amounts to some patriotic BS loyalty to the club from some fans is ridiculous.

Your explanation makes far more sense, simply because you did not drop in this fantasy loyalty to the club idea <ok>

I have no idea as to the facts of the Sakho thing so stay out of it, can't see the point in defending or destroying someone based on media nonsense.

In fairness france dropped Varane even though he'd probably make 2nd game.

They have had so many issues in the past that they have decided to have a protocol everyone knows and if you ain't making it you are out.

Clearly sahko was outside the criteria

Oh if Juanfran is in the squad he'll definitely play actually.

Although think Spain will definitely need pace from fullback.

Bellerin is a good young player. Barca in a bit...

Many people don't fancy Spain for this tournament, but they have to be one of the favourites for me. Quality throughout with more to replace if necessary.

The squads impressive, they have big tournament experience and can leave plenty of quality at home. Nobody will want Spain in the knockout rounds
