Very unpatriotic of me but when we don't pick the team that I think should be picked I almost want to see us stuffed. I surely can't be the only one. I can clearly remember thinking on more than one occasion, 'if only you'd picked Tiss..........'.

To be fair, as long as Sterling and Wilshere don't start, it is a team I can get behind (I'm sure they will be relieved!).

Come on Lff, get in the spirit. Just stick little round stickers of Jack Cork over your TV screen and pretend it's a team of Corkies playing...

"At number 2, is Jack Cork, at number 3 is Jack Cork..."

Agree about Roy Keane (but he was right this once), agree about God save the queen - but 99.99% of songs written are better, doesn't mean I want to sing them. and in my opinion, where songs come from does matter, because music and singing should come from the soul not just the mouth.

Oh jeez Island, shake it off. Get in the spirit. Go play Vindaloo again!!

Oh dear. We need to get this out the way early and not let it kill the mood. I wondered if there had been an England 2016 song...

Black Lace anyone?

Listening to three lions makes me so excited. My personal favourite football song. I think it's perfect! (Although I was very young when it came out, so I may only love it as it is imprinted on my brain!)

Got the jumpers for goalposts CD all ready to go in the car for entertainment between now and end of July. Woohoo! (Divorce to follow, probably! ).

My son has my copy and it drives my wife mad. A couple of years ago it was all he played everyday for a month!! (That month being two weeks before the tournament and two months of it)

Oh it's good, but if you were young when that came out... How young were you for the ultimate tournament song?

I know. As I said, most of the squad actually do deserve to be there for once so I can get behind them. Luckily, I do have a bit of Irish in me as well so I can't lose (or maybe thats just the Guinness!).

I was talking to John Barnes once about that Rap (name dropper). Anyway, he said that a lot of the lads had gone by then and when they looked for volunteers, the only one who wanted to do it was Stuart Pearce which they didn't think was a great idea. Anyway, they basically chose the only black guy there assuming that he'd be a natural. John had the grace to admit that actually he was probably the worst choice they could have made.

I think I'm going to ignore this thread from now on and just quietly support Wales by singing our wonderful, rousing, heart-felt anthem and roll my eyes fondly at all you English fans when you end up crushed when England go out in the semi-finals...

Deal. I'll take the semi-finals right now thanks :)

No, Helen, you can do your promoting of Wales here to. You're going to be my 4th favourite team in the tournament :)

I'll be looking out for you guys too (apart from the 16th, when sadly I'm in Singapore :( )

I'm actually more interested/excited for and by Wales than I am England. Terrible I know, but there we are.

I was excited for Rep of Ireland getting through, but having watched their game last night I wouldn't be losing any sleep if my team were in their group. That said, a) Big Shane didn't come on til about 70 mins and b) they have a habit of turning up for the big games.

Nice that we have a good few players involved again (same number as the world cup I believe?) - always makes the wider viewing more interesting....

I'm happy enough with that, so long as the injury isn't a niggly thing that means Bertrand plays through pain, then misses the start of next season, as last year.

It also gives Rose another opportunity to be found wanting, on more than one occasion, as in the last game he played. Better he screws up in another friendly, than in a game that matters.

They have a tasty group as well. Norn Iron are better, I think they can do some damage to Poland and/or Ukraine.
