Sorry Yorkie, not the USA. In America the professed religions are 37% Protestant and 23% Catholic - in the country I am thinking of the difference is only just over 1%. The differences are also revealed in the differing number of public holidays in this country (region for region) - the capital has 4 less of them than some other regions.
Given something that was said at work last week about it not being a holiday in all parts of the country when making payments on behalf of a client, I'd guess at Switzerland.
Not the Netherlands BB. There the difference is about 10% between the 2 religious groups. The ratio in the country I am thinking of is much closer.
That's the one Frenchie. The Catholic population is given as 29.1 % and the Lutheran as 27.9% making it the closest ratio in the World. The Protestant states are Schleswig Holstein, Hamburg, Mecklenburg Vorpommern, Brandenburg, Berlin, Niedersachsen, Sachsen and Thuringen whereas the rest is mostly Catholic. Berlin and Hamburg have 4 fewer public holidays than eg. Munich and Stuttgart. Cologne is predominantly Catholic whereas the place where I live (Engelskirchen), only 40 km. east of Cologne, is 34% Catholic and 27% Lutheran. Over to you.
