That's just it they are not expensive players with regards the PL. The most expensive player we bought was Henandez
they were expensive with regards to us. He also pisses me off the way he talks about "little old" Hull City. and he reminds everyone that we're a small club.
We are a - relatively - small club. We will do well to not get relegated next season. The other 'small' clubs in the Prem - Sunderland, Swansea, Watford, West Brom, Palace, Bournemouth, 'Boro, Burnley - are the clubs we are in competition with next season and we're not significantly stronger than any of them. Bruce plays it down in an attempt to keep peoples expectations in check. Would you really believe him if he started talking us up as a 'big club'? Do you really believe we belong in the top division and that anything else is failure? Are you ****ing twelve years old?
Don't bullshit. I never said he should say we are a 'big' club, but he makes excuses for failure before it happens. We shouldn't have been relegated last time. He was very defensive even in games we could have gone for it. That attitude can get to the players. Supporters get tired of incompetent attacking play, makes us look worse as a club. And there should be the ambition to make us bigger at least.
Are Leicester a big club now? Just curious. If Bruce said we were a big club and went out and recruited a few key players, and changed our style to be more aggressive in big games, would people moan that he's being unrealistic? We went down last time for setting up for draws too often, Davies said it himself.
I think Bruce is one of those managers who are lucky, maybe that's a reason for wanting the great big lummox to stay on. This site is great for guageing opinions when it doesn't descend into insults, some really interesting viewpoints on here.
nono, Id prefer him just to call us "Hull City" you know were not that small now, we have played in Europe, we have played in an FA Cup final. which is better than all the aforementioned clubs and therefore are bigger than them. I am not saying that we have a divine right to be in the PL. No one has a divine right to be there. but there is nothing wrong with us having the ambition and bravery to want to be there.
Also while you are there you want to make the best of it and cement your position, did Bruce really achieve that last time out as it seemed like we went into a decline from February the first season right till relegation the last, that's a long time to give a manager to be able to turn things around in this day and age and is why I am not convinced completely he's the right fella.
If we didn't think we belonged in the top division we should reject the promotion and give it to someone else. I would bloody hope we think we belong there. This idea that he needs to talk down expectations is rubbish, nobody is saying we are pushing to be champions or for a place in Europe. And I just wonder if we have fully reached our attacking potential with the players we have had anyway. And talking us down is hardly about to help with recruitment either.
Sunderland, Watford, West Brom, Boro haven't played in Cup Finals? That will come as a surprise to,them and their supporters. Little old Swansea haven't played in anFA Cup final but have won the League Cup.
have they? sorry I dont follow other clubs that closely. have they played in Europe too? well that burst my bubble
