I'm not saying that at all - I'm saying that the end of season table doesn't lie. Steve Bruce got his team to their final position after 38/46 games, would a different manager have got the same players higher? Who knows? Certainly not me and tbh I don't really see the point in if's, maybe's and and's ........... it was what it was.

No you didn't say that, you said the squad wasn't good enough. The table doesn't lie, it says how the team performed, it does not show the ability of the squad.

Yes it does .... now **** off and hump someone elses leg you argumentative piece of ****ing ****.

It takes 2 people to have an argument, if you stop replying then I won't reply. You're just miffed cos I'm right.

You massive ****.

Back to the point, so if it's only about the quality of players how does a change of manager result in improved performance with the same squad of players?

Barnsley, bottom of the table in December....new manager, they go to Wembley and win the JPT and today are promoted back to the Championship....

Chelsea - champions in May, same players bottom 6 in Autumn. Impossible, it's all about the quality of the squad...

would anyone actually be sad to see SB go?
I'd be sad to see him go because he's a nice guy whos always honest but I think he's taken us as far as he can. I think if he leaves now it'd be a good time for him and us, we hopefully can attract someone to take us to the next level and his stock will be high so if he takes a break he'd be able to command a decent job when he decides to return

fair enough.

Doesn't Bruce live in Solihull? Very close to Villa.
Not sure if Villa have bagged anyone yet, though.

Yes he does, not sure y villa haven't got anyone yet and Pearson isn't an option now

TBH I dont think that them players at Villa are cohesive enough to stop them dropping through the trapdoor of the chumpionship.

Last I heard Roberto Di Matteo was in the frame for Villa, but things change....If HCAFC are sold to an American then maybe it would be a natural parting of the ways. Not that I'd like to see SB go.

Does not matter who he beat to get there the fact is he did get us there and it is no great shame to lose to Arsenal in one of the best FA Cup Finals for years, took us into europe and yes we never did very well but he was also trying to prepare for the premiership something we have not had to do before at the same time he would have learned from that.

He got us promoted again, but we nearly made a Horlicks of that too. This season we shouldn't even had been in the Championship and it's only really because of him that we are here in the first place.

We need a change, it isn't a about deserving another chance because there's no room for sentiment here. We need to look at the bigger picture and analyse whether he is the right man to take us forward. I don't think he is.

I agree so long as the manager we need is available and wants to join us. I only have a couple of ideas but I dont think they would come to us.
