The first two years I think people were satisfied just being there. Just surviving and then going down weren't considered failures, it was an achievement just to be there.

The second two years were different. The first year we were quite safe, we dropped places towards the end as the players couldn't be bothered with the league games in the run up to the FA Cup final. The second season it was thought that we had our best team ever and that we should have a good chance of being safe and getting our best position ever. Things started ok but then slipped away, and then we got overtaken, missed some chances and that was that.

This time around I expect people have left behind the feeling of just being happy to be there as was the case in the first two years. Of course a few will now come just to watch some famous players, but most of the support won't. And paying premier league prices would mean I assume that some at least would want to see an effort commensurate with that.

The drop in attendance for our last session in the pl had only one reason imho. My season ticket jumped from just under £400 to over £500. That was the year we were punished for the first name change failure.

Once people stop going, they're hard to get back. The quality of the league doesn't matter when you're actively attacking the fan base. I'm surrised the attendance stayed as high as it did.

True
I only didn't go because I didn't want to
Actually that also meant I didn't want to go to pub either. If I'd been cheering them on in a pub I may as well have gone to Wembley
I did match it, in my home, with family.
I was fairly miserable, but they won't have noticed any difference from usual
Bloody hell Dennis go have some Real ales

Are you ok?
Seriously, if you want to talk about it... you know I may be able to help given my experience of severe mental health difficulties
Not too long ago, you were trying to tempt me to ****ing Brentford when I was sulking about the regime
Rise above Dennis

Now Premier league footy assured, empty KC seats will once again be filled by plastics and a few on here.

It's their rightful place you know..

Bruce IN OUT IN OUT shake it all about.

In the 70s I went to Wembley to see England play. I went in a bar in the ground and ordered a beer and I saw them fiddling around and I was sure they were pouring the dregs into pint glasses so I asked them to draw me one from the tap. The bar maid said: "Do you want one or not?". I walked out. I've never bought anything from Wembley inside or from the stalls outside since as I'm not confident of the quality.
I got to Wembley at 12.30 and I don't drink at all nowadays. Me and the wife went to Coast and Coast in the shopping/restaurant complex and had starters and main course and drinks (coffee/tea/water) for £80. I'd rather do that than spend £8 on a burger or hot dog outside. If I go to the KC I'm happy with a fish, patty and chips takeaway because I trust the quality.
The important thing obviously was to ensure I could focus on the match. City bossed the match and all their chances were reasonable attempts except Robertson's. Sheffield may have took more fans but there's lots of reasons for that. I'm glad for the fans who went to the match and enjoyed the experience. I'm also glad for the fans who didn't go to the match but watched it on TV and enjoyed the game and result.
There's so many things that can happen during the summer. Let's hope they are for the better.

I did post some photos inside the ground just before kick-off but I've got to get my priorities right in future. Maybe I was confused. I've been to two restaurants this weekend and not been served anything on a plate - it's all wood nowadays.

Wood on a plate? I'd send it straight back.

And those little buckets!
You mean the ones they put chips in? Hopeless! You put salt on and it only goes on the top 4 chips, so you've got to tip it out onto the plank, and because the plank is flat they all fall over the edge onto a table that was probably last wiped with a Ukrainian waiters underpants!
Give me chips wrapped in an old Sports Mail anytime!
