Still waiting for an example of how your life will change for the better with more UK sovereignty Col.

Soviet Union comment, nah, I'd much preferred to be a native resident of say Armristar in 1919. Or then again......

If you felt the way I do about your country you wouldn't need to ask this question.
You'll never get it.

Yeah, I'll take a look.
Both I and the documentary maker have oversimplified this stuff too much. But it's still worth a look.

Meanwhile 19 people picked up from a sinking dinghy in the channel. Are we about to feel what it's like to be Greece or Italy? Actually I'm surprised it's taken so long for this to start, but now the summer's here.......just read in the paper that our friends in the Netherlands and France have taken down lots of people smuggling rings sailing migrants into small ports in the UK, but lots are probably getting through. But we can sleep tight, as obviously we have complete control over our borders.

Who's condescending now Col?

Actually, in your professional capacity, do you know anything about the rules on shooting? Walking the dog this morning and there was repeated and seemingly endless what I think was shot gun fire, I'm assuming from the fields on the edge of town. Seriously spooked the mutt, so we had to go another way. Just seemed odd to me, can't figure out why anyone would be doing it, the fields round there are full of walkers.

Wasn't meant to be condescending.

As for the shooting. Is there an air base near you? Sometimes the bird scarers let off loud bangs. Also, the farmers leave automatic bird scarers that go off with very loud bangs periodically.
Apart from that it could be poachers or farmers shooting.

Reckon it's bird scarers, they are growing wheat this year, and really can't believe live ammo would be used in a location like that. Cheers!

I don't mean to be condescending either. I just am.

Unlikely to be live ammo, but some farmers do still shoot down birds of prey.
I would have thought that they would be more isolated shots though.
Automatic bird scarers are very loud.

My second daughter threw her postal vote in the bin because she couldn't decide which way to vote after all the negative campaigning. We persuaded to retrieve it after convincing her that everyone should exercise their democratic rights. 'I still can't decide though' she said, so I suggested that rather than wasting an opportunity to vote, she should represent her younger brother's view, who is not quite of voting age. One vote for Remain.

What kind of an outfit are you running there? Head of household decides, others follow.

That's why I'm waiting for my wife to tell me how to vote.

Left-wing democracy?...<laugh>

Thats the type of statement that leads to complacency its never over till the fat lady sings. In this case Angela Merkel at her impeachment for embezzlement of EU funds :)

The 'Leave' campaign have been so abysmal I think they've let Cameron away with murder, he's had such an easy ride he probably thinks he can walk on water...

Is accepting defeat complacency? You're right though, Iain, it's not over. Everyone should vote.

Talking of European politicians, I'm still waiting for Marine Le Pen of the French National Front to come over and campaign for Brexit.

Surprised Cameron hasn't laid on a private jet for her already.
