Unfortunately for us, Liverpool being nowhere in Europe means they can't get near their first choice targets, and their Plan B will always involve our players, and our players will always be interested, for monetary and CV reasons. I saw this (a Liverpool bid) coming months ago, as am sure loads of Saints fans did, as he consistently saves his best form for the traditional big clubs. He is particularly devastating against Liverpool. Even when they beat us 6-1, he was our sole bastion of hope. On our side is obviously the fact that if we want to keep Koeman, we'll have to make him some assurances.
If we have got to the contracts stage, I'm sure Ron is perfectly clear on our future plans. He has all the assurances that he is ever going to get.

Crikey, that was quick. I only mentioned that they would about an hour ago.
No way with two years left on his contract will Saints sell at a loss; and no way Spurs will pay over £12m for a 29-year old reserve striker (their reserve, not ours). Saints paid the fee that will likely be Shane Long's career peak fee.
Are we seriously going to worry about every player leaving this summer. Screw that.
I think we know the ones that may go....we're really laughing at the media thinking that Shane would be one of them.

If I was our board I would keep hold of Sadio at any cost this summer even at the risk of him leaving for a lot less next year. He could be the difference between CL football or not with all the riches that it would bring....plus if we can finish top four then maybe it would be a big incentive for him to stay.
