The destiny of the UK should be up to the populace of this Country, including its governance.

Tony Benn favoured leaving the EU. Mr Benn was leftfield. I also do not consider Mr Benn to have been a tosser.

Think before you vote......Are you voting yourself out of a job and you don't realize it? You don't have to work for a European company to have your job under threat.!
If your company has dealings with any country in the EU then if we leave it will be more expensive to do any trade from the outside and again put jobs in jeopardy as firms will have to make up the money they lose in profits and that's why companies in this country who do a lot of trade in Europe are urging people to vote to stay in.
People who are voting out are voting out with the idea that we can run ourselves, Well yes we can run ourselves but in a more expensive way and with no protection from anywhere. Without carefully understanding the consequences of what leaving the EU umbrella means and all the benefits we get from working with our partners then you could be voting for a life of misery and struggle as this country sinks into deep recession like never before....

That is a complete misnomer. Being a member of the EU also can make trading more expensive. A point made by Peter Hargreaves, a man who does more than a bit of trade with everywhere.

Thatcher destroyed the north and Wales and Scotland where some of us have still not recovered from and if it was not for us being in the EU we would be a lot worse off than we are......Thatcher was an evil woman who targeted the labour areas and took their jobs away leaving the Tory areas to flourish that caused the biggest North /South divide that still exists today......It took members of her own party who were not right wing to get rid of the witch. Thank god we had the EU to fall back on.

The EU has helped to destroy industry as well. By adhering to EU regulation industries such as steel have become uncompetitive and ... Well Britain barely has a steel industry anymore.

The road Thatcher set on privatising anything and everything also can occur with the UK being within the EU. Legislation/trade deals (ha!) being considered could lead to Governments being sued by corporations, and Countries having to sell assets.

Leaving the EU would allow Governments more ability to go down a protectionist route to ring fence British jobs, industry and services. It would also be easier (in theory) to renationalise utilities.

Ding Dong (Thatcher) indeed was a dark creature. However she was removed, Governments change left to right, but we as a populace have little ability to vote against the EU policies.

Complete rubbish yet again, we've been in the EU for 40 years and it's done nothing to save Llanwern or the ones up North and with Port Talbot being the last one to go.
Energy cost are also set by tariffs set by Eu.
We lead the way, and it's been pointed out to you time and time again in health and safety. It's the others countries that don't.

Another way to compete with China is to compensate UK producers. The hurdle is there that the EU has rules to make that problematic.

It was his attack on the poster, that riled me. After last weeks fiasco I've tried to reign him in when he gets on his mission to try and argue his point.
However he was saying to stay in to protect the steel industry. We've been in the EU now for years and years and all the steelworks have all shut.
If the Chinese product is poorer then surely the EU should only trade steel with better quality steel. Hence they don't so using that as an excuse is rubbish.
A lot of things in this country have to buy sustainability, trust me a pain in the arse setting up concrete mixes with recycled product. The biggest by product to be used in concrete is blast furnace slag, which we won't get in the future with steel manufacturing stopping. All this is to try to buy recycled or local to reduce co2 emissions on manufacturing. Buying and shipping from China can't really compete with that.
Perhaps if we come out we can then support our own products without the EU trade aggrement flaunting rules when it suits.

This was his point. It is incorrect. A way of competing with China would be to deregulate and subsidise.

The thought of Britain asking the EU to block Chinese importation is uneven. The Conservatives have gone to great lengths to make China one of the UK's biggest trading partners. It is not a good nation to start a trade war with!!
