Mane (as good a player as he is) strikes me as a bit of a sulking mercenary

2 years left on his current deal, so he either signs a new one or you cash in now whilst you'll still get top dollar for him.

Then you have to watch a few more interviews and read a few more articles. He actually surprised me that he seems quite determined to play for Saints next season. OK, at 24 he could get his head severely turned, but that's the case with any and every player.

And the sulking mercenary bit you might be mistaking for quiet shyness. My eldest brother encountered him recently in a supermarket, and he said he couldn't have been more polite, quiet and well mannered than if he was paid to do so. I know that means nothing in itself, but it helps to build the picture. Don't runaway with the idea that he's out the Saints exit door come this August. Besides, we'd get plenty of money for him with just a year to run.

Mane's not been particularly consistent either. He was dropped at one point this season. I'd prefer him to stay but if we lose him for big money I won't be quite as concerned as other people seem to be.
I would be quite concerned, our flying end of the season coincided with Mane' s return to form. On his day he is unplayable as City found out, these players are priceless, I so hope he stays

I thought I remembered him getting his arse out after the last summer window, when he was being linked with United? Or did I dream that?

You'd take quite a hit on the figures being mentioned at the minute if he got down to 12 months left imo.

We've got the same situation with Stones. He'll go this summer as he's simply got to, as he's only got 2 years left and he's shown no interest in signing a new deal. Modern football mate I'm afraid.

Sadly, I think you may be right, I think he downed tools at Stalzburg, or Metz and went of on a bit of a strop. He comes across as a very nice guy, but sadly I think we may have seen the last of him.
Always liked Everton, but I think you guys are gonna get raided this close season, making the job of a new manager even more difficult?

For every Gaston I could list you Rickie Lambert, Jose Fonte, VVD, Sadio Mane, Shane Long, Dusan Tadic, Steven Davis, Ryan Bertrand, Jordy Clasie, Oriel Romeu, Graziano Pelle, Jay Rodriguez, not to mention our academy products....we have an excellent record of improving players.
Someone call an ambulance @InEnglandWeTrust has suffered a vicious assault here.

I think he's been sparked.

We'll defo lose Lukaku and Stones mate, but should keep the rest imo, the new man has got a very good budget to work with - plus sales, so we'll see what he manages to deliver with it.

Anything will be better than what that fraud served up last season though tbh.

Read this morning that Conte wants to take Lukaku back to Chelsea.
Exodus?

He can go for me mate, he's barely broke sweat since Christmas the self absorbed beaut, and his comments in recent weeks have been an absolute disgrace.

However, he appears to have forgotten the bit were someone has to put £65m on the table to secure his signature.

Shame, as when he's really at it, he's virtually unplayable, and his goal record is fantastic. He'll be a big miss, but if he wants out, then **** him.

You really don't know our club do you? We are just as capable of cashing in with one year left.

If we so choose.

And for every Liverpool flop I could give you Torres, Mascherano, Alonso, Reina, Hyypia, Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho, Can, Sakho etc etc

Pretty sure our record of improving players is just as good, and probably harder as were buying better players to start with with higher expectations <whistle>

As a mod, shouldn't you know better than to visit other team boards to troll?

Nope, just paper talk. Victor Wanyama definitely got all out of shape though and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he left this summer. But things change. That's the bit none of us can predict. The way the club is going I wouldn't be surprised if they all stayed, but Victor is closest to the exit door, for me.

As for Stones, don't be 100% sure. Yes, it is probably likely, but not guaranteed. New owners, new money. Everton should be building a team around him for the future.

And yet with all those millions you've spent and all your global support you still finished the season behind little Leicester, West Ham and Southampton, how utterly humiliating for you....

I don't need to know your club, but I understand maths mate, and business......

You don't allow a £25 million pound asset to rapidly devalue in a 12 month period - and then further risk said intangible asset digging their heels in with 12 months left and walking out the door for zip.

Hence the reason we'll be selling Stones this summer.

£600m spent on players in 10 years

Pots won - 1 Mickey Mouse

I think the stats suggest otherwise mate. ;)
