Don't think those figures have any relevance tbh Dribs, the same players and same dynamics are not in the mix at OT and probably not even the same team tactics if he follows their tradition of attacking football.

It may or may not be worse.

Tbh I think the appointment of Mourinho will be like our appointment of Klopp. A feel good factor for them and their fans. The difference with Klopp is that he'll immediately have a very large budget to get the players he wants,

totally agree..

The wenger one may have a relevance given wneger is at arsenal and a direct rival for years... but pep and klopp and conte are all at new clubs and the playing staff are so different its going to be a clean slate IMO.

just cos dortmund beat him up a couple times... really its meaningless.

I agree.
It always annoys me when commentators say things like "Team A hasn't beaten team B for 33 years" Wtf difference can that make?

None if team a doesn't mentally adopt a can't attitude.

It's all about mentality.

Atletico werected second best and bitter forever....but the credit to simeone is that he's given them the we can attitude.

The past should not define the present especially when the present players and staff bear no resemblance to the past.

Very true, when praising certain clubs and certain managers the media tend to forget pre-1992 but when the "Team A hasn't beaten team B" scenario is used it can go back in footballing terms as far as they like.

Jose is a **** manager

He's just Pellegrini if Pellegrini was also an awful human being

Mourinho's record is a top top record. lets not lose ourselves is a blind we hate utd stuff. We delighted in getting him the sack. I'll never forget singing bye bye mourinho when we beat them 2-0 at anfield. Lovely day that.. he only dared get up of the bench once.

anyway..... mourinho's record is a brilliant one. there's no question utd needed to change and had this in mind for 6 months. The only thing i would say is by not changing midseason they cost themselves CL qualification. I don't really know why they decided when times were tough back in the winter not to just go do it and stuck with van gaal... but in the end a silly slip up at 2-1 up v west ham and they were out. it was that close.. Who knows... maybe mourinho would have got them much higher in table, maybe not..

I think there is an added pressure when history is against you, though. Look at Benfica, I feel every European final they reach they are still weighed down by the curse of Bela Guttman, and every final they lose makes things worse every time.

A top top record but at top top clubs.

His bag of tricks is now well known, especially in the PL.

I think it will be very entertaining. Van Gaal was a proper **** too but he got away with it, perhaps because of age and poor English. The media won't hold back against Mourinho in the same way.

...so will Mourinho ...so no difference...:)

Do you think he's as **** as Klopp?

Jose is not an improvement over Van Gaal and both are vastly inferior to Klopp

TBH you should think of Jose as just a big name keeping Man Utd's profile high (he can't make your club any more classless anyway) while you spend the next couple of years looking for a proper manager e.g. maybe by then Pochettino has continued to develop into a [HASHTAG]#worldclass[/HASHTAG] manager but is tired of Spurs [HASHTAG]#bottlingit[/HASHTAG] holding him back

I am not shocked how the same press that hounded mourinho at chelsea recently are now all over mourinho with hysterical praise.

I think he'll get a good window of love and affection. It will be interesting to see who is signed as that will tell me what mourinho's learned from his Chelsea debacle.

Of course it'll be all "special one" until the football actually begins. The press are the same. Phil McCunty has already started writing his articles comparing Mourinho's first 1, 3, 6, 12 months to Van Gaal and Moyes'.

The rumoured signing of Ibrahimovic shows which way Jose's going, the same way as always. Older, proven players who command high wages.

It will also bump up Rooney's wages since his contract demands he's the highest paid player at the club

So you rate Klopp now? You were scathing about him when it was suggested he might be brought in to replace your hero Rodgers who you considered to be a top class manager.

I wonder whether your views are slightly influenced by what you want to be the truth. It's a possibility.
