It seems Bayern have to him no actually we really don't think you will play so He could well be running down a contract here.

Obviously the no CL football made his mind up so frankly LFc dodged a bullet there... he might be tops but not the attitude so wonder where he will end up... not barca or real so that leaves city.. he would seem to be to be a pep player.

Let's not get precious. Why would gotze rush to join a club without European footfall? I would take bench at Bayern at 23 vs playing in midfield with Milner and Henderson with no Europe and a crocked striker. Our only selling point is Klopp and a fast ageing history.

Won't lie lol would have been nice and I would have felt good for 5 mins that we can attract decent players still.

But he isn't a priority position. Would have been a luxery but in the wrong area of the pitch. Need quality at the back not so much up front.

That's fair.

My point is klopp needs guys desperate to grow and succeed and play. This guy clearly isn't that desperate to play each week and for klopp and went cold the instant lfc lost the cl chance.

That tells me that while he's better than anything we've got he's not committed so really what's the point.

Speaking to reporters on Friday afternoon, the German said he was looking for players interested in “pushing the train, not jumping on the running train.”

“Maybe 80 percent we are not in the Champions League next year,” he said.

“So if I would speak to a player now and he would tell me ‘if you were playing in the Champions League next year, I would be really interested’ then I would put the phone down from my side.

“I always tell players if when you are 35 or 36 and look back on your career and you think about the one year you didn’t play Champions League then you are really a poor boy.

“There are so many things you can do and reach if you go together with the team.

“You can qualify for the Champions League, play Champions League, maybe win it or whatever.


“It is a much more satisfying thing than all the rest. That is what I would say.

“It is pushing the train, not jumping on the running train. That is what we need here.


“If somebody says to me ‘you don’t play Champions League next year’ then it’s ‘goodbye!’ and ‘thank you, have fun next year wherever you will be’.

“We will find players or we have players already that will go our way.”

Massively disagree. We play with three attacking midfielders of which one of them is Lallana and if any of them are injured then we push Milner forward. It is one of the major positions that need improving. After our January failure to land Texiera and now failure to get Goetze, I would imagine it is top of Klopp's list.

I agree with you. I think we do need at least one.

But most of all our team is bloody average. Happy harry the genius told us it was the most average we ever seen... he was not wrong.

Can and firmino in 2 years could be bigger names but we need one or two that excite and create a buzz. Just need people who get bums on seats.

All we need look at is the hysteria after 2nd in Asia on tour then 24 months later we'd nobody turn up cos there were no stars.
 
Something to think about. African cup of nations in Jan next year. Potentially lose Matip for a month b
