Portsmouth aren't in the Europa.I think it will be almost impossible for non STH's unless we get a ridiculously long trip or a dangerous one that a lot of people don't fancy.
Portsmouth aren't in the Europa.
Not even in a proper bit of Hantsa. They're not even in the UKa are they?
My favourite city...loved Sintra and Belem as well. Just hoping that one day there will be flights from Southampton, so I could pop over for the weekend.
Is that the charming café that is usually packed out. With my wife being from near Lisbon I often jump on the bus to Lisbon when we go there. She reverts to Portuguese type when she returns home and I don't bother waking her up.........at 10 in the morning. Often get told off for disappearing with the kids to Belem. There is a great little cafe just up the road next to the museum in Belem that serves quality that would cost silly money in this country. My Sporting shirt is ageing these days though. The adverts all over it are wearing off.

Hey! Saints could end up playing the first Europa tie against a Welsh team... unlikely but it's a possibility![]()
Our hotel was just at the bottom of that road opposite the monastery, just round the corner from the botanical gardens! Not normally packed out. It isn't really in the face of tourists. If you head from the big maritime thingamy on the quayside and head straight up through the garden and ponds and have the museum (is that the former monastry?) in front of you then the rode that heads up the hill on the right side of the museum. About 100 yards up on the right. Tiny little cafe. Rustic traditional food. Last time my wife and I had a meal and beer for 15 euros all in. She was in Portuguese mode moaning that I had taken an olive out of the bowl on the table. "If you leave the olives you don't pay for them". Had to chuckle.
Just looked at google maps and it is on the road called R dos Jeronimos.
Google street view. It is this one:

I was thinking of this place near the monastery, where they serve Portuguese custard tarts....only the best. Apparently their record is 55,000 in a single day.
