A striker is a leap of faith, you have to believe when you buy and play them.
 
You appear to be defending the indefensible Smithers...as said a (former) top class striker should be able to recognise another
 
I think strikers are an unknown quantity in the modern game - there are very few who perform week in week out, season after season. Obviously a club would make a decision on a proven striker or a potential success but both are a gamble - my argument is once you have made that decision you have to play them - regardless.

You are quite correct in say if you buy one that you think will fit in with your style of play...play him <cheers>
 
It is not as simple as just buy a striker, the teams style of play, interplay, service and willingness to chase lost causes all come into it.
 
All well and good, having the ability to score goals, goal hanger / poacher does it for me.
 
Diouf is garbage, no amount of game time will change that in my opinion. Joselu scores a lot of goals for the amount of time he's on the pitch. He looks composed and gives us different options. Give the lad a chance as he's our in form striker at the moment

He's not the signing that I would want - I don't see how he improves us.
 
Its always difficult taking players from relegated/relegated threatened teams, they are generally there for a reason.
