Storth, South Cumbria.
Rumour is that Martin Skrtel is looking to leave Anfield.
He is 31 and loads of experience, could he be our back up CH. He'll probably think he could go to a club playing European football but could he be worth a punt.
Personally I'd like to see a good young un who we can bring on, Beadling for instance, but do we need someone who can do the job now.
Thoughts anyone.

Your next centre half should be a younger lad, one who you can keep for 5-10 years maybe or flip a big profit.

You have to be proactive as well as improving the overall quality of your squad.

hopefully this is what we do. no more cast-offs or has-beens. don't know who the young might be but there must be a view diamonds out there

I think with the money coming in this will be generally how a few teams will look to move forward
Signing young players who will develop
In terms of defence I'd be staying clear of the South American players, think African/Eastern European would be the best we could go for!
I'm sure that there are some in the German/Italian league who would be worth a look

I like the fact he's got loads of experience.

At the same time, I'm a little tired of signing other teams cast-off's!

Let's get more in on the lines of Khazri, 25 years old and eager to please!
Exactly signing can
cast-offs is for struggling teams like what we were - we've got top 6 ambitions - & a manager who will get us there imo

Top Six.

After Leicester I'm not laughing but with Allardyce that's a gargantuan task that, in my opinion is well out of his reach.

Silly season has started early. Nos and Wanderer have been at the Mr Sheen.

His top 6 prediction was for you lot mate, still optimistic like, I reckon 14th will do you, no Leeds
If we don't keep Rafa I reckon that is where we will finish. In fact, if we don't keep Rafa I'd be putting money on a consecutive relegation. I'd like to think, with Rafa we would come straight back up however I am very aware of how unpredictable the Championship is.

Seriously, I can't see you pulling up any tree's however I can't see you being mired in a relegation dogfight either.

A lot of ifs and buts mate.

Rafa is a smashing gaffer, but can he spot players for the championship?

You get out of that league by having complimentary moving parts, not talented individuals.

Derby and Boro would have pissed the league on ability. Burnley slotted together and won it.

I can only operate on ifs and buts at the moment sadly. Although he hasn't managed at that level, I'd be surprised if he didn't know what it was about and have an idea on who would be ideal. The only thing I am fairly certain on is that that if we don't get him, we will hire some plodder who will no doubt send us even further into the abyss!

I am still not overly confident that Rafa will stay anyway. He is far too good for NUFC
