Would have thought this occassion was made for Abedayour, yet Gayle got the nod from Pardew. And now Palace making it look like Urinals have 12 men.

Hurry up I want my dinner.

....and Gayle could/should have won it for them.

Well after a slow, rather tedious beginning that match ended in an exciting way. I believe the result opens up another Euro spot for somebody? Saints? Do West Ham also get a shout? (I guess in spite of themselves after that awful finish).

Congratulations Man Unt. I'm sorry for all my friends at Crystal Palace but West Ham are in the Europa League a great end to our season. dg

Wayne Rooney "the [Utd] fans have had a tough two years"

My heart bleeds for them.

I expect when we win the FA Cup the captain [insert name here] will say "the fans have had a tough 150 years. But they are proper fans, they know their loyalty is blind and may never be rewarded."

I'm just watching Milan v Juve in the Italian Cup Final. It makes our FA Cup Final look like the Scottish FA Cup Final. What a snooze fest ... Zzzzzz

Milan are, sadly, complete crap at the moment, I expect they aim simply not to concede. They have one good player though, a young lad called Niang, is he playing? I've seen enough football for today. Well done the Hibies, Leith Walk will be rocking tonight.

Meanwhile in the Big Apple - I've been doing more gardening - just returned indoors to see BWP score a couple of quick goals (SWP and Fat Frank on respective benches), with 20 mins to play.

Talk about getting taken to the cleaners on your home pitch, by your NY rivals.

Fat Frank coming on to try and save the day for NYC, no sign of our former diminutive player.

6-0 now. NYC defend like us on a bad day!

7-0 now at Yankees Stadium, home field for NYC.

Niang came on in the 85th minute. Got booked in extra time. Their aim was what you said, It was a droll affair.

Sounds like a signing Harry might have made if he were still managing our club - all in the family.

We should have signed BWP instead of SWP.

Frank Lampard has been called the worst MLS signing ever by several US media outlets

Frank Lampard was jeered by his own fans as his New York City side were humiliated 7-0 by New York Red Bulls.

Substitute Lampard, 37, was making his first appearance of the season in the week it was revealed that he earns $6m (£4.1m) - more than the entire Red Bulls squad.

Red Bulls' top earner Wright-Phillips in contrast set to make $650,000 (£448,000) this season.

Patrick Vieira's City - who started with fellow big names Andrea Pirlo and David Villa - had 57.7% of possession.

Bradley Wright-Phillips scored twice for the Red Bulls.

The former Manchester City striker now has 50 goals in MLS - one fewer than Thierry Henry managed for the same club.

Red Bulls were already 5-0 up when ex-Chelsea and England midfielder Lampard, who had been out with a calf injury, replaced Pirlo with 15 minutes remaining.

The win equals the record for the biggest margin in MLS history.

Los Angeles Galaxy beat Dallas Burn 8-1 in 1998 while Chicago Fire beat Kansas City Wizards 7-0 in 2001.

Lampard, Pirlo and Villa are all in the league's top 10 earners, with Red Bulls' top earner Wright-Phillips in contrast set to make $650,000 (£448,000) this season.
