What I'm saying is that he is like a lot of young English footballers.

    Completely overrated.

I would take £10m for him today no worries, maybe he is one for the future. I don't think so though, I think he progression has stagnated.

I have a grasp of finances and whilst I think he is decent player I don't think he is an integral part of the team and is replaceable. Obviously we should try and get as much as we can for him. If someone offered us £10m I would take it and run and not look back.

What I don't get is people like the Swansea chap coming on here saying that £10m is a snip for Redmond.

He obviously hasn't seen him play week in, week out and seen what a frustrating player he can be and the fact that he only turns up for the occasional game. If people want to spend £10m + on him I say go for it.

I would take the money and run.

If we could get someone in to replace him who actually cares about the team over himself then I'd sell him for £10.

Redmond hasn't had as good a season as any of us would have liked but at 22 has played a lot of first team football and is quite experienced.

Its amazing how we all see things differently but I just don't think Redmond will reach his potential with us, partly due to the players around him and their lack of quality. In an attacking side that gets plenty of players forward I can see him being successful in the premier league.

That's how I see it but I know from reading the thread most others seem to disagree.

If Redmond is as good, or potentially as good, as some on here seem to think, then his on pitch performances should have been dragging the club forward. The rest of the players should be trying to emulate his input. Unfortunately I have seen little sign that this is so. I cannot say howthe twins compare, but from all reports I have seen, bat least they appear to be getting better.

I'd say Redmond was one of our better players last season, but that's probably not saying much. I do rate him though and think he's a good player and probably get unfair criticism. £10 million is a good price for him, I wouldn't like to see him go but we have the Murphy twins who I think could do quite well and with that money could bring in a couple of new players.

Actually you have challenged the way I feel and I'm willing to admit you might be right.

I couldn't say for sure unless he moved but I certainly see your point. If he cared and was played on a front 3 he may do very well.

    Good point.

This is MY problem with him, he so often looks as if he can't be bothered, which will quickly turn the supporters against him. One thing most supporters want to see is a committed performance, thats why we've had the likes of Grant Holt & Bradley Johnson as Player of the season.

I'm not a great fan of Howson, he should be scoring more goals and seems to disappear for periods in games. Just my opinion.

We need a proper, scruff of the neck, see it do it captain.

I mistakenly thought Naismith would bring that fire but he hasn't galvanised the squad at all.

    So who then?

Anyone think we should take a punt on either Will Grigg, 24, from Wigan (P43 S28 last Season)
Or Lee Gregory, 27, from Millwall ( P50 S25 With the play-off final to come)

Both Young, hard working, strong, determined Strikers who would be full of confidence in front of goal. Big fan of them both. I think they will both score goals in the Championship if Millwall join Wigan in promotion.

3 goals in 31 appearances isn't that great, but is probably fairly typical of CMs in the lower half of the PL. Last time in the Championship he had 8 goals in 34 appearances which is more than respectable. IMO, he's one player who certainly puts in a shift every time he plays and that can't be said for many others, although I'd include Jerome, O'Neil, Olsson and Martin in that category as well. It's a long, hard season in the Championship and we're going to need players like that. Brady started off like that, but fell away a bit in the second half of the season.

I think we should be looking for someone from the lower leagues as our third striker as long as we get in a quality goalscorer as well. Of those two, I'd lean towards Lee Gregory, though he isn't that young at 27, but he should be reaching his peak now.

Where would you have played him last season and at the expence of whom? Brady? Tettey? Howson?

Tettey. Bradley always went forward, Tettey always goes backwards.

There is a valid reason for that ILD, Tetty is a defensive midfielder, Johnson is not.
