Stan still loves football and says QPR, where he scored 97 goals in 315 appearances, was his favourite club.

And I and many other RRRs still love Stan because he is my favourite player!

IN TERMS OF TRUE GREATNESS I WOULD GO GERRY FRANCIS CAPTAIN OF ENGLAND WITH STAN A VERY CLOSE SECOND,BUT I WAS TRUULY A RODNEY MAN HE FOR ME WAS MY FAVOURITE OF ALL TIME BUT I WOULD GIVE THE GREATEST EVER STRIKER TO LES FERDINAND HIS WIKIPEDIA PROVES HES THE MAIN MAN NO STRIKER HAS EVER BEEN THAT CONSISTANT AT THE TOP LEVEL RODNEY ONLY GOT FOUR LEAGUE GOAL IN 68-69
STAN AND GIVENS ALSO BLEW OUT BUT LOVELY LES NEVER MISSED HE WAS THE ROLLS ROYCE OF QPR HE WAS AMAZING HIS ATHLETICSM WAS
SUPERSONIC but enough of this lunacy god bless you stan thanks for those lovely memories
 
The phrase "legend" is banded about far too often these days, but not in Stan's case.......a true legend of the game and we were blest to see him in his prime......

There is no doubt that he possessed a special talent. Likeable guy I'm sure but flawed. Obviously didn't handle his responsibilities well as a family man as alluded to in the article "He wasn’t always a great dad to us".

Have to say things on a thread paying tribute to one of the greatest players QPR has seen. He is suffering from an illness that affects many of our friends and family and we should be happy to have seen him at his best.

Were he playing today, he'd likely eclipse pretty much all of the so-called 'global stars'.

He was an honest, genuine, unique bloke who had his personal demons but never tried to be anything he wasn't, and the game is poorer for having such bland characters these days. All we get these days are rapists, peaedos, and racists. Oh for a few more Stan's in the game...

staines rangers your avatar is a bit polical i remember when all over northolt was sprayed join oswolds moselys black shirts he used to live in a great big house alongside where qpr want there training ground its a strange thing now but of course northolt was the center of racism black people were attacked all the time on a regular basis

You see my avatar is from that lesser well known fascist organisation, The Dead Kennedys, who's ex fuhrer 'Jello Biafra' was a well known racist and anti-Semite.
