So by your reckoning Newcastle have won **** all since football was invented in 92 and you call yourselves a big club. I hate to tell you this but big clubs win trophies not get relegated.

Football of course didn't start in 1992. The modern football era did. Nobody cares what x club won in 1905. 1925 or 1935. What matters is what has been achieved recently. Leicester had pretty much won little prior to this season. Yet, they are now more successful than either of us. A title win in 2016 is more relevant than one 100 years ago.

Big club - Financially we are. Support wise we are. The number of staff we employ we are. Trophies? No. The term is sleeping giant which applies equally to Sunderland.

What a shallow mind you must have, using your logic what is the significance of the Leicester win, it is like all the rest in the past

I will always be proud of the history that is Great Britain even if we did make mistakes in spawning some clowns

Shallow how exactly? This is football we are talking about, not major important historical events that shaped this country. Sunderland and Newcastle winning the title 100 years ago did not have a major historical impact on changing the political or social conditions of Great Britain did they? They aren't on the same scale as 1966 for example. That win had a major impact on this nation. It's called logic for a reason. You will always be proud of Great Britain? So proud you left it to go live elsewhere. Only one clown around here.

I think the big difference between you and me is that my world does not revolve around football as yours seems to do, in your reply you equate everything as it applies to football that is what I mean by shallow

Mr Watt can only assume this talk of irrelevance does not include him or other greats that followed in his footsteps.....

Big club is one of the most over used and most meaningless terms in football. People use it in so many different ways that nobody knows what it means anymore. It can mean rich club, successful club, old club, well supported club or a club full of potential. None of it matters though. We all just want to see our clubs do well. Both of our clubs have suffered at varying points from the people who run them taking for granted that we are big clubs in some ways and not trying hard enough to keep us there, and both clubs have suffered from the people who run them not recognising that we are big clubs in other ways and not reflecting the ambitions of the fans.

It's the equivalent of a darts player winning 6 BDO world championships then saying he's won 6 PDC world championships, it's a completely different organisation.

He has a point about being proud of your history, but at the end of the day he cannot deny that, like us, Sunderland only ever won the title when they were shown playing in black and white.

Nobody can argue that it's no less of an achievement to win D1 than it is to win the PL, but regardless, it's not the same thing.

I should know, we have 13 and Liverpool have none, we remind them at every opportunity.

Puts things into perspective for us when we are arguing over which club has the better zero <laugh>
