Good to see that Roy listened to the crowd on Saturday about the keeper options and has Fraser number 1* *I know, it's alphabetical by position
As I've read through the book I've realised he was spot on about many things which were wrong about the game then and some that still are now. Funnily enough, although he was criticised in some quarters, a lot of the changes he proposed have come to pass in the way he suggested them or modified form. His views and criticisms of the governing bodies though is bordering on the prophetic. Undoubtedly, he knew [knows] his sport and how it should be played.
So, for me, out goes Wilshere, Delph and Henderson. Also for me, Rooney scrapes in because Welbeck is out. Paucity of options, rather than his outright quality. His experience is worth his place, but I wouldn't start with him.
Yeah, that's a good suggestion. Knock me down with a feather if it ever happens though. Antonio will be overlooked by Roy just as he's been overlooked for much of his career, except when he was with us. BTW, notice his goal celebration against Stoke. Still the same one from League One and JPT.
Yep! Seems to have kicked on big time though, he has more to his game. Noble should be in for Delph. I would also have taken Keane from Burnley. But Roy only takes none Prem if he has no other choice.
If I was Mark Noble I'd really be thinking about jumping in the Thames, what does that guy have to do? He's been robbed, feel for the guy!
What is sad about that will be the little girl watching the Euros on her TV asking, "Where's my Daddy?"
Have you finished it? Sounds like you recommend it.. I've just ordered Ballie's book, but may get this next.
I don't think he's good enough. Not saying the others are top drawer though. I agree with the comment about Noble. Horrible little ****, but a good footballer.
Don't run away with the idea that it's a great book [just want to warn you, although it gets good reviews], but Thomas is certainly insightful and the bits that are interesting are worth spending the £2-5 off ebay. You won't get a new one. GOOD condition will be about as good as you'll get. It is a book from the 1980s, after all: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/By-the-Bo...519431?hash=item464d88c407:g:omsAAOSwiYFXKnlY
