Hardy Black 8 00 Dun -been given this as a plot job -the early price has long gone -whether 7 /2 is value is a personal choice -its no world beater but then neither are the opposition ....
No bet for me in the race but will be watching as I'm sure others will be with huge excitment hoping that CUNCO will be half as good as his dad and his mum wasn't that bad either!
Fancy 2 at Aintree tomorrow. Mad Jack Mytton @ 7s and Al Co @ 6s. MJM should benefit from having his sights slightly lowered and old boy Al Co has been running good races in unsuitable ground.
Stormy Cloud 2.55 York Boater won really impressively on debut but that form couldn't have worked out much worse. Stormy Clouds has won of his three starts with one on turf. Barsati 4.40 York 9/4 He has won both his starts for this yard and looks very progressive. Saint Charles 7.05 Aintree 6/1 Has only has one start since finishing second to Thistlecrack last spring. He ran a reasonable race at Newbury and should come on a heap for it. Good ground will hopefully suit.
Cheers for sharing mate, i quite like the look of Cappadocia at 6s in the same race, so will do reverse forecast with yours
Okay, this one does not come with the usual ‘do not shoot the messenger’ caveat because it comes from a friend of mine. On Tuesday he texted me a short-priced double at Beverley while I was stuck in the office! In all honesty they looked like a couple of telephone tipster horses but they won. He has texted me this in the York 2:55 each-way: Mightaswellsmile. It ran green on debut and should come on for that – it will need to looking at the race!
Whilst it was an eye catching performance by Beautiful Romance in winning the Middleton (and she is one to follow because of that), I cannot help but wonder whether Journey has to have the lead (i.e. Frankie should have taken it off the outsider) and the run of Lady Of Dubai was mystifying as she seemed ill at ease from some way out and dropped away tamely. Judging by John Gosden’s post race comments, I think he was a little surprised by the success of his attractive chestnut Wings Of Desire (perhaps not too smart to admit having taken the horse out of the Derby given what it will cost to get back in) while the more fancied Foundation ruled himself out of Epsom. Midterm was bitterly disappointing, way off the pace right from the start and giving Pat Smullen considerable trouble. It does look like agents will be ringing Ballydoyle to offer jockeys for the half dozen they will end up with in the main event as none of theirs have impressed in the trial races. As Joseph O’Brien has said he would ride US Army Ranger, we can rule that one out! It is hard to summon up any enthusiasm for the Yorkshire Cup. I cannot help but feel that Clever Cookie is best with some give in the ground and Flying Officer is weighted to reverse recent running with him anyway. The best horse on the ratings is Second Step and it would be no surprise to see him win at the first time of asking like he did last term, although the trip might be a tad short. Like Ron, I am quite tempting by the over-priced Oasis Fantasy in the 4:40 as I thought it was a decent performance by Ed Dunlop’s gelding at Newmarket and the six pound penalty may not be enough to stop him. My main concern is whether his style of running will be against him in a race where most of the field tend to be up with the pace.
Spotlight in the racing post states regarding Cunco that ' market confidence would be highly significant' ! Was this written by a racing man at all? if ever there was a horse first time out that market confidence would tell you nothing it is this horse as many will back it simply because it is Frankels first runner. Should it drift like a barge then of course that may be significant but it could be thrown money at and go off odds on just because it's Frankel's.
Desire in the 8 30 @ Hamilton, currently 12/1. Fahey sends it on the long trip, only runner, Sammy's only ride too who i rate highly and as the new/next Hayley Turner. Huge price
Morning all, an exciting day ahead. I'llbe honest, I've not heard anything about CUNCO so can't give any inside info as it were. The fact Gosden's string are firing on all cylinders is positive but you really can't tell how a 2yo is going to cope with his first racecourse experience. Unfortunately for the Colt anything other than an authorative win will be deemed a failure by many.
Morning, all. The one that I like from a punting perspective today is Sir Michael’s THETIS (3.30 York). She was most progressive last term. After winning her maiden she followed that up with a highly creditable 2nd place in the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes. Looks the type to improve with age and the stable know what it takes to win this event having had the victor back in ’13. Drops back into Listed grade today and potentially looks very classy. From the same barn I also like ULYSSES at Newbury (4.15). He should make it 3rd time lucky today before going onto much better things. However, at current quotes of 4/7 the old boy is not a betting proposition for a simple working man such as myself. Good luck all.
Cor blimey that’s quite ‘pigeon holing’ someone. Why can’t Sammy-Jo, if she’s as good as you think, be the next Kieren Fallon, Bill Buick or Ryan Moore?!?
Moore goes to Newbury and Ulysses is the obvious reason, but Ed Dunlop has had a wonderful start with his 2yos with a strike rate of 3 out of 4 so I'm going to suggest that Oceanus is the novice to spoil the Frankel colt's debut and give Moore another winner today.
War of Succession at 11.00 in the 13:30 at Newbury Beausant at 4.50 in the 14:35 at Newbury Party Thyme at 9.00 in the 14:45 at Newmarket Good luck! http://freebetcalc.com/odds-calculator/trixie-calculator?prefill=11.00,4.50,9.00
In that Newbury 4.15,can anyone spot the horse who carries the colours of a past King George VI 'chase winner?
