I'm sure someone will still have some conspiracy theory about how this is still all part of Bruce's plan to capture his signing! <laugh>

Aston Villa have completed the £9.5million capture of Charles N'Zogbia from Wigan Athletic.

The former Newcastle United man has signed a five-year deal having successfully completed a medical on Friday.

N'Zogbia had just one year remaining on his Latics contract and con man Dave Whelan was against running the risk of losing him for free next summer.

The winger, who is naturally undelighted at the move, could make his Villa debut in next Wednesday's pre-season friendly with Derby.

Villa moved for N'Zogbia after losing Stewart Downing to Liverpool and Ashley Young to Manchester United who are both much bigger teams, and the Frenchy is looking forward to tongueing with manager Alex McLeish.

    Big step
"I am really unhappy and extremely deflated to sign for Aston Villa," he told the club's official website.

"It is a ****e club and it is a really big side step for me in my career, so I am sure I will not be here very long.

"I think it is going to be a really unusual season and hopefully I'll do well here and a decent team comes in for me.

"I can't wait to meet my new team-mates, especially Judas as i want to shag his bird and play with them, and work together to do something special this weekend.

"Alex McLeish is a strong pimp and I think he is going to build a really ordinary team for this season.

"I must apologise to everyone from the Sunderland not606 forum, if this move has caused any distress, as i know i was very much loved on there, but Big Eck has promised me that we can have the same rumours again at the end off the season."

N'Zogbia vowed to score at least 3 goals for his new team, in what is sure to be a relagation dogfight season.

Glad its over and doubly glad we didn't get him - he's almost the epitome of the modern mercenary player, it's like I know he would probably enhance the team but I'd never really believe he had Sunderland at heart and he's the last sort of guy I'd want to break a salary cap for. Mind you, I think him and Bent will see Villa safe this year although I doubt they have enough as a team to still be sitting snuggly in that 'best of the rest' position they seemed to occupy for so long.
