Welcome Chris (if indeed you are appointed today)

Two pieces of advice on joining Charlton:

    1. If you shake hands with Meire, make sure you count your fingers after.

    2. Don't bother taking your coat off. You won't be staying long.

    <cheers>

Colin has just revealed Karel Freaye has become interim manager. I'll wait till next year for him to tell us who our next manager is.

Wilder originally said "no" to the Charlton job, after seeking advice from others within football (Powell?)

The comment about him having "full control" is a classic.

    1. If you shake hands with Meire, make sure you count your fingers after. Also Swarfega Powerwash is quite good at getting rid of the slimey residue left on your hand by her <ok>

He's and idiot if he joins, players WILL be sold from under him, it's only a matter of time until it happens. If he is signed his title will be very telling.

Head coach - no control over transfers, the status quo continues.

Manager - has control over his squad until they fall out over player sales/**** brought in.

I don't believe it for one second. A bloke Roland has employed four times isn't allowed full control over player recruitment, but a bloke Roland would never of heard of will - how does that work?

People have lumped on causing the odds to shorten a long way. Lazy journalism is my guess.

It would be a terrible career move. I can't understand why he would take the job, especially if he's spoken to other former managers. Like Riga, he must be one of those people who has to find things out the hard way.

Wilder says that his relationship with the chairman and the fans make it a hard decision. If that's what he genuinely values he will stay where he is.

I think the lure would still be there, Charltons history etc. He will come.

Its inexplicable, particularly if Wilder has spoken to Chris Powell as rumoured.

4 straight losses this Autumn and Meire will fire Wilder to improve our ranking.

Surely he wasn't telling a teeny-weeny untruth when he said that? Could be a perfect fit!

Might do when they're in a league above us. They're only doing it to appease the fans. I can't see us doing things the right way, only his way.

Agree. For someone who's spent the majority of his career at a lower level there will still be a draw. The infrastructure like the stadium and training ground will still be a draw.
