Which outfield players were encouraged to join us? Which players did Leicester and Spurs need the CL to encourage to join them to finish above us? Let's be clear. We are NOT challenging for major trophies. That's the issue here. Finishing top 4 is not a trophy or an achievement even though you keep insisting it is like Wenger does. If we have a new manager who took the time to do what he thinks needed doing, instilling new tactics, new training methods, getting rid of deadwood, bringing in better suited players... Then yes, being out the CL doesn't bother me BECAUSE IT'S ONLY THE MEAN TO AN END, NOT AN ACTUAL END. I want our club to use it resources more wisely than it is now. We should be buying players of top quality. We should be buying young players and making them better. We should be playing a a variety of tactics to suit each game. If it took a manager a year or three to instill this then so what. If we could see work was being done and that there was an end goal then I'd be happy.

Ultimately I want to win the league or at least challenge for it. You don't need to be in the CL to be able to attract title winning players. Being out of the CL for a year or three doesn't bother me if it was a greater cause.
Barring this season where Leicester have completely bucked the trend. I think you do need to be in the CL to attract top quality title winning players.
About as much as the FA Cup. It's a stop gap trophy that I'd be delighted to win but ultimately not one of the big ones.
