The only strength being saving money at the expense of the football being played. Next obvious questions - new head coach??? Not Trollope please. Nothing against him but not inspiring. Good news surely. The guys done a good job for us so didn't deserve the sack. Just appoint a good first team coach/manager & hope Russ's input is limited.
Good compromise - can't see him staying that job long unless he's wants to be a bit of a Klingon - let's face it, he's got the hairstyle...... A manager's job elsewhere will come along and he'll be off with his reputation intact (well almost anyway). Good luck to him - he did what Tan wanted at the time but we must now move on.
I honestly don't think he'll be in charge of anything other than his title. It's just a face saving appointment until he gets another manager's job.

If his role is limited, then no need to appoint him then! I don't get this appointment, it seems that Tan has just bailed out and felt obliged to give Slade a job for doing what he was brought in to do the last season. I'm more interested to see whom this new dynamic young manager is going to be
Hopefully this is just a temporary sideways move before another club in the financial mire give him a job. Please Please do not let him anywhere near transfers or scouting. He couldn't spot talent in Messi, Bale or Ronaldo.
He will have total control of everything to do with the playing side and how he wants the team coached.....It could work and worth giving it a go....Tan seems to like him to give him total responsibility so go with the flow because if it don't work out after a series of games then tan can get rid of him.....
Fair play - we get more entertainment from Dai than we do watching City............ I wouldn't give much for Young's (and Trollope's for that matter) chances of a job with us next season. As soon as a new man is appointed, he'll want to bring his own staff with him. I just hope to hell Tan doesn't try to impose Young on him - that would be a disaster and probably prevent us getting the right guy.
