I was 7, it was my first season of going to LR with my Dad, and just understanding what was going on when I went to the matches, and I remember being heartbroken - see nothing's changed over the years
Yes remember that soop, laying on the bed with radio on & was stunned & that prick toshack coming out & saying I've got no smpathy for them & they had there chance, sure did & blew it at Norwich & still hate them, best side in the league & come 2nd!!
Remember it well.. I remember the previous 10 days too....when we were top of the league and in my eyes champions
I was 9 and couldn't bring myself to listen to it on the radio. I was out in the backway playing alley soccer with my brothers with my father giving us goal alerts. It looked so good for so long. The first of many heart breaks.
I've posted my experience of that night at least twice before on here. I can't bear to do so again. One of the worse night's of my life.
YES I HATE NORWICH AS WELL HAVING GONE TO THAT MATCH AND GETTING TURNED OVER But yes it was so hartbreaking me and all the loft boys went to the upstairs of the springbok the battle commanders said if we lose knowbody smashes this pub its our pub its sacred but unfortunately there was quite a lot of damage as glasses were thrown through the optics qpr fans were hysterical never has pain been so painfull never has my heart been so broken, but lokoking back on that season dave thomas hit twelve goals which was amazing as he was suppoosedd to be an orthadox winger who was only a creator, don masson also punched well above his weight and scored quite a lot of goals when we had signed johny hollins he had been a very high scorer for chelsea once scoring 17 goals in one season but john just didnt have his goalscoring boots that season,he was quite brilliant but those missing goals could have tipped the scales but anyway still hate norwich, and looking back on it all ,it seems only yesterdayit is hard to believe that it was 40 years
You just to bring this all flooding back didn't you? I too listened to this in my bedroom with copious amounts of brown ale consumed
brown ale yes thats right before there was lager us londoners used to drink brown ale those were the days Ill never forget qpr smashing all there pubs up before the game they used to love us before this game
You'll like this Col, Norwich have 31 points at present, this supporter could count all those points on his fingers and toes... http://metro.co.uk/2016/05/03/paren...nd-toes-make-desperate-plea-for-help-5857038/
Hmm, it was always light and bitter as far as I remember, and there was plenty of lager about in 1976. These 'QPR' people you hung around with smashing up pubs sound like a right bunch of ****s.
NO NO RANGERSCOL ME AND FACTO DIDNT SMASH THE PUBS WE PREACHED PEACE LOVE AND HARMONY NOTHING WORSE THAN A CARROT CRUCHER WITH A BROKEN NOSE
