Slade has taken the club as far as he possibly can. The real reasons why I feel the club need and its fans deserve a new manager are because his decisions on team selection and tactics this season have been poor, and the football drab, with too many goalless games, too many late goals conceded and not enough late goals scored.
Admittedly he was hindered by the injuries to 3 of our most important players against Wednesday but the set up was just all wrong. Why wasn't Lawrence on the pitch or even Harris, why was there no striker on the bench; surely Healy would've been a better bet than no striker.
Slade has never taken a club to promotion in nearly 750 games as manager and he is completely unlikely to take City into the Premier League.
What is needed desperately is a fresh outlook on the playing staff and the style of football as we supporters surely deserve better than what we've had to put up with this season and last with so many poor and dull games at the City Stadium.
However decision will be Mr Tan's and his alone; if he has no desire to pump more money into the club then I suspect he will stick with Mr Slade.
Basically if Tan wants to err on the safe side then he will probably stick with Slade and hope that City luck out with a top six finish but is that really realistic given what's happened this season?where would the ambition be in that?
I really hope that someone can persuade him to source a dynamic manager from anywhere really, there are plenty of them floating around, and bring some attacking and high-tempo football back to the club not seen since the Dave Jones days.
Even if that doesn't bring promotion, the thought of endless Tuesday nights watching a drab nil nil performance or a cold December afternoon watching us struggle to a one nil win does not fill me with much enthusiasm.
What are other peoples views on their what city should do next season with a manager?
