I thought it was time to run this thread, it has been coming for a while. Leicester is I suppose my nearest club abd should have been the one that I supported. When I was very young (age 5, 6, 7 and 8) I was regularly taken to watch them by my Dad and uncle bu for some reason I always wanted them to lose. The local paper (Leicester Mercury) is probably one of the worst in the country and its football coverage was so biassed it was and is unbelievable and this could not warm me to them either. So I went through school and working life taking consistent jibes as over my lifetime Leicester have generally beaten MY team in terms of league placement and it is only a few seasons where Norwich have been the dominant force and I had the upper hand. But today, I reflect on what they have achieved under the sterardship of Ranieri and have to applaud them. Not just for what they have done but the way they have done it and they have done us smaller clubs proud. To be honest it will probably never happen again because for different reasons all of the 'big' 4 or 6 even have messed up and that surely cannot happen again. the one thing that surprised me was that their squad was not picked off during the December window as Southampton's had a few years ago. Again this was a case of the big beasts not wanting to invest in their managers who were going to exit this Summer. There I have done it, but let me make this quite clear, I would never have changed a thing and given my time over again I would still have chosen to support Norwich City and take up my position in the old River End come rain or shine or indeed the away end where applicable at away games. But this is Leicester's day (or weekend) and we should as football fans applaud their achievement.
Can you imagine Leicester City and Mark Selby winning this weekend. The city will go bonkers. But you have to credit the club. No big names and you can see their tremendous work ethic that's been lacking with Norwich. They chase everything. They deserve it.

I was watching Breakfast TV and they were interviewing a father and son who are lifetime foxes fans and the son made an excellent point when he said that the 'foundation stones' have been laid over the last few years and rightfully gave credit to NP!!! Glory hunter! But yes, really hope that Leicester win it today, and at Old Trafford of all places...really hope that they smash United today, what a season they have had, a 3-0 battering of United in their backyard would be beautiful and a poetic way to win it.
work commitments mate, shame really, I'd have loved to have visited my old University city again and drunk you lot under the table (although I would imagine that that old booze hound gandy would have given me a run for my money) Another time mate!
What it does now mean is Spurs need to win tomorrow v Chelsea to keep it alive. Had LCFC lost today a draw would have suited Tottenham...for a short while

Apparently match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker promised to present the programme in his underpants if his former club win the Premier League. Does that mean he doesn't normally doesn't wear underpants when presenting?
This is a fantastic achievement for Leicester City and I'm so happy for them. But it just shows what you can do when you have a board that has objectives and implements actions to attain them. Not a board of cook book writers nepotistic appointees failed politicians and media lovies, but a team of people who want to take the club onto higher things in a professional way.
In one respect it's totally fabulous they have won the PL, but in another respect utterly ridiculous I am hoping that the PL mould is now broken and we can see the likes of WHU and Saints (maybe Leicester again) make serious challenges for the top spots in the next few seasons.
Excellent post Gambia, but you've omitted one KEY ingredient - a multi millionaire to bankroll the board's ambition. Whilst we all have to be eternally grateful to the current board for saving NCFC from disappearing into oblivion, it really is time for them to hand over the reigns to others who have the ambition and the funds to take us to be established in the PL, as opposed to being a 'yoyo team!!!'
Well done Leicester! Amazing achievement! Our players don't deserve to clean their boots, that's what hard work and a team ethic gets you.
It seems like most teams these days can afford a £15m player or two, and the difference between that and a world class, £40-50m+ player isn't that great. Hopefully that means that well run teams can stand up to the big boys more often, and we might see that stranglehold broken more frequently.
