A tattoo artist had her belly button removed, her tongue forked and purple ink injected into her eyeballs to look like a "pixie dream girl."
Grace Neutral, 25, said she never felt comfortable fitting in with main stream beauty ideals and wanted her look to "reflect her soul."
She has also had her ears reshaped to look pixie-like and has had scar modification work done to her face.
Speaking to Yahoo 7, she said: "There's a huge difference being a woman in this world.
"For men, people swallow it more easily but for a girl they expect you to be this English rose.
"People come up to me and say: 'Why would you do that to yourself? You'd be so pretty'.
"But being that mainstream media aesthetic just isn't me."
