Was going to wait until Sunday, but why. It's close enough. As Chilco said to me earlier... go for it.

Open until after the Summer transfer window shuts. These are rumours. Proper ones, daft ones, ones completely without substance or foundation, some with a whiff of credibility about them, and there might even be the ones with links from the sports media. If anyone can generate a convincing enough rumour, for example Gareth Bale returning to Southampton, so that it makes the newspapers, then you'll have hit the spirit of this thread spot on. So go for it.

Saints are scouting:

Diogo Jota

He is on his way to Atl Madrid, with their record of bringing on forward players he could be in for a good future
Didn't know a contract had been agreed. We scouted Jota and Rafa at a recent game. Probably will miss out on both...

At the very least he would have had a Saint Diogo! thread by now

We're off to a bad start...first transfer rumour lasted all of nine minutes. Back in my day, we'd have been able to keep arguing about that one for six to eight months.
Rafa is still a option until Spurs come in...

DTLW, did he seem positive? I would be absolutely buzzing if we can get the Ox back. Would be the biggest signing in my lifetime, easily.
Jose was very enthusiastic but he tempered what he was saying with (and this is me summarising and not a quote) 'He's at a huge club already, he's a great player, he needs to decide what's best for him. He's a good mate, I just want him to have the best career possible.'

But, he repeatedly told me how much he'd love him here and how they've spoken at length, and said Saints could be a great move for Alex.

Oh and here's some quotes from Fonte on that Chamberlain stuff. More of that tomorrow, probably on Yahoo Sport.

Reactions: Toss saints
Just had a look to see if he'd got his head straight and sorted his career out and settled down.

The answer, rather predictably, is no.
