Kante has been told by Leicester he can leave the King Power Stadium this summer - but only if they have a replacement lined up. Manchester City are the latest of Europe's biggest clubs to join the chase for the Foxes midfielder. (Daily Mirror)
Gosh, someone has got a lot of faith. Cant imagine the owners or whoever does the planning accept this year as a one off and want to cash in
Arsenal are also in apparently. Arsene still hasn't learned that their are other positions on a football pitch other than midfielders.
If he wants to leave fair enough - he's done good for us and we will turn a pretty profit as bidding is starting at £30M apparently. I remember that we were after another French lad called Mendy who was meant to be more of a prospect - maybe go back for him?
F*****g s**t if you ask me. Why should we go back to being a selling club ? We should be adding ready for the new season. I don't expect us to have a season like this one but we need to be looking at being a top 6 team season in season out.
Man wants to leave, man can leave - one of our biggest strengths is our team spirit and we don't want anything disrupting that. We survived without Cambiasso, we'll survive to him.
Has he said he wants to leave? If I went into work and they said "you can leave when we find a replacement" that would actually encourage me to go.
... let's just be clear ... unless I hear something directly from the club this is just speculative, jealousy contrived bollox, journalism from the London media fervently hoping that it will be the case and that our little pocket dynamo will end up at Arsenal ... ... as Claudio recently said ... "any player he eez unhappy he can leev, why yes ... Kante he eez very happy, always the big smile..." ... and to the London paparazzi
Come the silly season, you lot are in for a lot of this. You can speculate about players and owners reaction and what they have said all you want, once the money is on the table it'll all change.
It'll happen though, probably a bit like this... Kante (Answering his mobile) - Hello? Dodgy Russian Bloke - Hi! Congrats on winning the league. Kante - Thanks. Dodgy Russian Bloke - How would you like to play for Chelsea next season? Kante - No way I love Leicester and Leicester loves me. Dodgy Russian Bloke - What if we double your wages? Kante - Nah, they'll pay me more this season anyway, we're in the Champions league don'tcha know? Dodgy Russian Bloke - Ok well what if we quadrupled you're wages and bought you a Ferrari... Kante - Well, look, I'm not sure...I like it here... Dodgy Russian Bloke - And Amy Adams. Kante - The actress?! Dodgy Russian Bloke - Yeah that's the one. Kante - Isn't she married? Dodgy Russian Bloke - Let us deal with the details. Kante - Ok sounds good where do I sign?
It will be hard to keep Kante and Mahrez. We are by no means guaranteed to keep anyone but providing we see the league through, we couldn't do any more to keep them. What it will do is reduce the number of clubs who would be able to take players from us to a minimum where previously many more would be more attractive options. I can't understand why Tottenham are linked to both, no chance as they aren't now an attractive enough proposition. More likely the Spanish Giants
