And that takes their supporters minds off pondering the fact the on-pitch staff have
been shockingly unprofessional in the defence of their PL title, for all the money they are paid ??

No course not but gives them something to smile about.

It'll be brilliant if we can go Stamford Bridge and get a win what with their chants yesterday and recent comments, they'd feel sick.

Didn't George Graham take Ginola off in the first half? He might have been 'injured'... I remember being pretty livid when Ferdinand scored <whistle>

He stuck him on the subs bench iirc ... never brought him on... think Ginola never played for us after that!

Handball - i have seen them given
The push wouldn't be normally given - it made no difference to the outcome
Offside - As Ulloa was behind the ball when it was played he cannot be offside

I take it none of you lot are old enough to remember your trip to The Dell in April 1978 then?

There' a few Brighton fans will never forget it.

Scariest 90 mins of radio I ever endured as a kid (worse when you cannot see yourself what the
    commentator is talking about) . :( :)

And another cautionary tale about the price that can be paid right at the end for having inferior GD.

I went to the cinema that day, couldn't bear the tension. Had to look for the result in the Evening News classifieds.

Aren't the players just saying what they think and what we all know they think? Naïve perhaps but hardly a shocking revelation.

Can you honestly say that if the shoe was on the other foot you wouldn't expect Spurs players to prefer a Leicester to win the title then say us or Arsenal?

There is a reason most derbies are more hotly contested than routine league matches. Rivalry is exactly what this great game is about and no one wants to see their rivals do well. And as a fan, I hope the players understand that and try that extra 5-10% accordingly on such occasions.

Chelsea will not throw the Leicester game but you can't expect the same level of intensity that there would be in a derby match, regardless of the potential ramifications. You've had 35 games to be in a better position to win the league, you can't now try and blame it on us!

If you put in 2 games of 90 mins performance against the contenders, purely because you are
CURRENT CHAMPIONS and because of PRIDE, then there is no argument.

Derby matches have nothing to do with the above.

The reality we suspect will be something different, and IMHO it will be better for the integrity
of the PL that Leicester are crowned champions BEFORE the final game of the season.

Brighton fans were convinced a dull draw, which suited both sides, was a foregone conclusion. Not really how I remember it. I think Saints were definitely trying to win, but try telling that to a Brighton fan. Point being, if Leicester need a point on the last day of the season and end up drawing with Chelsea, I wonder how many of you will say the fix was in?

In those days it wasn't live on television. As has been alluded to, anyone who saw the Austria v W Germany game in the World cup screamed fix during the game. I can't believe this year it will matter but if it did and Chelsea and Leicester passed left to right for a bore draw then people will rightly be up in arms.

By their works shall ye know them (it will be obvious in their play) .

If in the two games, Chelsky give the performance of a cup final / relegation decider for 90 mins,
then you know they are being professional. Corresponding, if they roll over in both games, you
know they couldn't give a toss about who wins the PL.

Either of the above would be acceptable for both of the champions elect.
We will soon know how much professionalism and pride resides in the current PL champions ...

Why would Chelsea put in that level of effort / performance in 2 games that mean very little to us? It'll be a regular professional performance in each game though I expect a little added spice on Monday due to it being a rival and a night match.

The fact we are current champions has nothing to do with it and meant nothing when we were playing so abjectly previously this season.

You've highlighted only part of what RDBD said. No one will complain if you put similar amounts of effort into the 2 matches (granted the rival status gives a bit more edge) whether it is as if it was a decider OR if you stroll through both. It is the even handedness that is important.

    Fair enough.

I just think the Hazard/Fabregas comments have been blown out of proportion. I expect us to try a little harder to beat you then we will Leicester purely because of it being a derby, not because it may help Leicester win the title. That's just a bonus ;)

No doubt. The derby will give us a bit of a shot as well, our record at your place is appalling and we will want to improve that. Especially as a win guarantees Group stage CL.

I think that on a certain other forum WY, they might refer to that comment as a "bite".
