BBC report disappointing - a "section" of the crowd protested, and selected quotes from Bruce that makes it sound like pesky troublemakers again.

I for one was happy to hold my red card aloft in East stand and we cheered when West stand booed on being introduced. It was a well done protest, thanks to HCST for organising. Plus the paper planes kept us entertained during the dull bits of the match.

The covering on Look North said 'some' fans protested, and BBC sport website says 'a section of supporters held up red card's. Well so much for media support - it makes it sound like a minority of fans when my impression w from the East stand was that it was a big majority of fans in the other stands protesting.

Bruce said in the interview after the match that the thing we needed right now is unity. So what does he think to the Allams scrapping concessions? The way he said it was as if he thought the fans were in the wrong.

Well, I doubt a majority of fans actually held up cards but I'm sure there would have been plenty who didn't hold up cards but still were opposed to the membership scheme. Whether it's 40% or 60% or 80% or 90% opposing the membership scheme it's still a significant number. Nobody could say that the protest was a failure.

Just caught up on the game and the protest, it looks excellent, a lot more like it. Well done the Trust.

Steve Bruce has finally said his bit, he need not say anymore now; well done to him, too.

Not great about AA. I wish him well, but I wish him gone, that can't change unless he rescinds his madness.

It didn't come across to me like that at all. I felt that he was quite clear in saying that if you don't like the membership scheme then don't join it, and that's not going to endear him to the Allam's.

Even if he did say that - as well as what I heard him say - it's a stupid comment if it ignores the fact that a lot of youngster and seniors wont be able to attend matches. Doesn't he think the club would appreciate their support rather than playing to a half empty stadium?
I think there has been two interviews. I might have watch one and you might have watched the other.

Exactly as I interpreted it.....
What is sad though is Bruce said this has been the best five years in the clubs history, but it will be remembered for the name change and the membership scheme.........well it wasn't the fans who thought these ****ing ideas up Mr Bruce......

Steve Bruce was certainly not promoting the membership scheme - he could not have been clearer.
He saw the amount of red cards - they were 90 % of the crowd , in ALL stands.
"If you don't like it, don't join it..." Also, nothing wrong with wishing somebody recovery from illness
Credit to David Burns too - the owners have got to listen.

What Harlee Dean’s own goal and Mohamed Diame’s eighth strike of the season also did was ensure a happy end to a night on which the 15,225 crowd had made clear their displeasure at the club’s planned new membership scheme.
Around 8,000 red cards were held up ahead of kick-off by fans unhappy with the plan to replace season tickets for 2016-17.
The scrapping of concessions for children and senior citizens has caused much of the ire felt by supporters, along with many having to relocate seats to take advantage of the cheaper prices.

For the opening half hour, the protest – literally showing the red card to the new scheme – had been just about the most noteworthy part of the evening.

I don't know what you've been listening to but it wasn't the same as the rest of us. We've applauded Bruce coming out and saying what he did.
