Just watching a stream of Juve and Fiorentina, the pundit's mentioned that Juve have been on a run in Serie A in which they've picked up 70 from their last 72 points available, 23 wins in 24 matches with 1 draw... Fuuuucking hell.
I don't buy that for a second. First half of the season we was winning most games 3-2. Teams didn't respect us and took us on toe to toe and lost, 2nd half of the season teams have worked out Vardy and Mahrez are actually good players so they play deep and double up on them stopping having as much of a impact. Teams play negative against us hence why all of sudden we look solid as anything at the back and haven't been as freely going forward If you think you have all of a sudden become really negative then your mistaken, yes we play on the counter attack but we prefer open games, we haven't got to where we have by playing defensive football. Vardy hasn't scored 22 goals and Mahrez 18 because we shut up shop You have been brilliant aswell this season and any other season I would be cheering you on to win but as its a smaller club and us you will have to settle for 2nd Still an unbelievable season for both of us
The top teams are telling a story, Spurs 4 v Stoke, Leicester 4 v Swansea and even a lesser team who Spurs have to play scored 4 against Bournemouth. Of Spurs' other opponents Newcastle came back with2 against Liverpool and Saints scored 3. This should be interesting.
Tbf, Brunel , I think ur probably being a bit hard on Wenger and all he's achieved with you ! I think you guys are gonna fly next season but you have to be patient !
I work with a Gooner, can honestly say this season has been so satisfying hearing him slate and insult his own club more than I would.
Pogba with the assist for Mandzukic, wins a header and nods it into the striker's path to hit a volley into the bottom corner, great finish. 1-0 Juve. It's not often Fergie got much wrong in his managerial career but letting Pogba leave has to be up there with the Stam decision. This guy is just ridiculously good. I'd say if he is to leave Juve in the summer, it'll cost the buying club more than what Madrid paid for Bale.
ha ha course it was, stop trying to convince yourself you play football like us, I can't remember anybody doing that to Stoke in any season. None of the top 5 have won at stoke apart from us this season and its a notoriously hard place to go, ps Newcastle put 3 past Swansea last week so you're hardly barcelona
Late drama in the Juve game, Kalinic equalised after Bonucci pissed about at the back and the striker was able to bend one round Buffon. Morata then made it 2-1 Juve with a tap-in and then Kalinic had a penalty saved in the 90th by Buffon. Serie A is basically theirs now.
The experts are desperate for "big"clubs to buy your players so the top 4 can resume as usual...the summer papers, in between England matches and endless 'aren't we ****' articles will be filled with stories of who will be buying Kantes, Mahrez, Vardy, Schmeichel and who wants Ranieri. ..they will do the same with Pochettino, Kane, Dier, Ali, Lloris, Alderweireld, Eriksen and co. They can cope with one season of us fighting it out for the title but want united, chelsea, city, arsenal and liverpool back in the rightful place.
The thing that got me about his departure was Ferguson kvetching about him showing a lack of respect for the club for wishing to join Juve - yet conveniently neglected to mention how Man Utd benefited from Pogba showing no respect for Le Havre by breaking the agreement he had with the club the second he had some of the Glazer's filthy lucre waved under his nose.
I'd agree with that. You guys have always had an element of caution in your play. It's counterattacking football, similar to Crystal Palace or Watford. Nothing wrong with it, it's a good leveller when you're up against sides with far bigger budgets. It's not the kind of football I personally like watching, and it's been really quite boring over the last few weeks when you've been up against sides who do the same(earlier in the season they might have given it more of a go, as you say). What seperates you guys from your Watfords and Leicesters, other than their **** second half of the season, is that you guys are extremely clinical. You're counterattacking but you do it better than anyone else because whilst you might not be on the front foot all game you only really need 1 or 2 good chances and you've won. Then add in a few worldies from Mahrez and it's easy to see why you've won so many games. It's incredibly impressive to be that good at what you guys do. I do find it strange how the press are waxing lyrical about you, yet they seem to have already written you off for next season. It was the same for us before our last couple of games too. All the focus is on new managers at the "big 5", the money they'll spend, etc. I don't see any reason why you guys can't continue doing what you're doing next season and the same for us. It'll probably be more crowded at the top and we'll both have CL football to contend with but unless you guys start missing loads I can't see anything changing too drastically. Anyway. I think that's us done. Even if we do win all the rest of our games, I don't think a win and 2 draws will be too hard for you guys to get. Hopefully we'll both be competing at the top next season. If not, well at least we postponed the annual billionaire dick waving contest for a year.
